Sorry! I've done so much public speaking, people tell me that I don't have an accent.
What, kind of accent are you looking for? Generic southern? redneck? Cajun? New Orleans? Ninth Ward?

I have an audition this coming Wednesday. I am doing a monologue from Steel Magnolias and would like to pick up a bit of the accent. A friend of mine says that mine sounds like a soft Virginia caccent when I try to do the southern. Steel Magnolias takes place on the Mississippi/Louisianna border.

Too bad I didn't see this sooner...I don't have a cajun accent or anything....but the guy who did the voice of Gambit --the cajun member of the X-Men, in the comic books/cartoon series--...maybe you coulda found some tapes of the episodes he was in, and heard a little bit of the cajun accent from that. lol

Hmmm....maybe if there's a website where they let you hear his voice, that might work. lol

Or you could try mixing a southern accent with a french kind of accent...that's what it kinda sounds like to me. lol
