Anyone know any good blogging websites?

I'm looking at starting up a blog to document my travels as I really feel like I should have something to show for the last 3 years and all the future years of globe trotting to come. Just wondering if anyone knows of any good sites to use?

I've used Blogger with OK results, though it is an arm of Google.

There's also Open Salon (http://open.salon.com), sort of a social blogging environment.
