Anyone tried Windows 10 and the Edge browser?

So far it seems to be as popular as a case of smallpox. I've yet to read or hear anything good about either, but they sure are pushing it hard. I get prompts all the time to upgrade for free. Thanks but no thanks. Maybe, in a few years they will get it right. I won't be holding my breath.

I've had to go in several times to kill the downloads that threatened to go ahead a install the freakin thing. If I install the new system, I lose all the programs I've downloaded; and I inherited this beastie from my daughter, so I don't have any backups to reload. Oh, wait, that's right - that's their idea, to generate more income!

I have Windows 10, but I don't use the Edge browser. I still (and always will) use Firefox. I tried Edge, but it was too weird and not what I was used to, so back to old reliable Firefox. Anyway, I'm probably used to Windows 10 by now so I don't really have any complaints.

I also use Windows 10 but not Edge. Windows 10 seems fine to me for the most part - I changed from Windows 7 directly to 10 and it was an easy transition.

But I haven't tried the edge browser, nor am I likely to.

I have Windows 10 and I use MS Edge only for my Adobe help. Only use Firefox for browsing. So far, no trouble.

You can't use Edge. It would take away from those nights of "hey guys, who wants to fire up Internet explorer and get a virus?" Lol

Check out this page for instructions on how to stop Microsoft from bugging you to install Windows 10. And maybe better, on that page scroll down to the info. about the Never10 applet if the directions that precede it are a little too geeky and intimidating.

Actually, IE still comes with Windows 10; it's well hidden but it's there, just in case you absolutely need to use Internet Explorer to get an older Web site to work for you or something.

Personally, I've found there's very little Google Chrome can't do and do it better than other browsers consistently.

Thanks for the tip. It does get annoying.

I actually really like Windows 10. I use it on all but one of my machines, and I only haven't installed it on that machine due to the software I use that needs the developer to get it Windows 10 ready. Windows 10 is a pretty good apology for Windows 8 and it's been about long enough for most of the bugs to be ironed out. I can fully understand why people want to stick with 7, but 10 isn't the boogeyman it's made out to be.
