Anyone understand HR metrics?

Hi all. I have a university assignment to do on HR metrics, eg the balanced scorecard, the human capital index etc. If anyone understands the ins and outs, pros and cons of various HR metrics, I'd love to PM with you. Basically, I have to write 2500 words on this and it has not been taught on my course. I don't really understand it at all.

Please give me a hand if you can.

Might help to know specifically what you mean by "HR".....human resources? horrendous reptiles (i.e. Godzilla)? I ran outta ideas... But seriously...

The bottom line:

There is actually no such thing as "HR Metrics."

I find it both disturbing and angering that a college professor would throw such a red herring your way to teach you about life. ESPECIALLY if you are paying for this class with your own money.

"HR Metrics" is actually a misleading corporate game. They tell you what to look for, you look for it, then they change the playing field at a moment's notice to distabilize both you and the employee. Then they tell you that you are not doing a good enough job to cover their own asses.

An HR representative is effectively working for three-piece-suit-wearing spoiled brats who use both them and the person in question as a meat shield in the future event that they might seem wrong.

I am not defending HR reps. As far as I'm concerned, if they are fucking stupid and scared enough to do this to one of their own for the sake of a few weeks or months of self preservation, then they deserve all the grief they get...HR is a punching bag junk job, in my opinion.
