Are the 2-21-11 vignettes in WWE actually for the ICON Sting ?

There are conspiracy theories all over the internet about what the vignettes are for. One is for the return of the Undertaker, which if its the case is just plain stupid. Another is Awesome Kong, I highly doubt that too . The Johhny Cash song which was associated to Sting in TNA has alot to do with the hype plus Vince saying top priority of 2011 was to get Sting in WWE

That Johnny Cash song was also used in Undertaker promos. I'm pretty sure it's for the Undertaker. Of course, I never would have expected to see "Diesel" or Booker T, again, and apparently they're both with the company for more than temporary pay-per-view contracts, so I could be wrong.

I don't really see the appeal of Sting, but my view of Sting goes back to the spiky-haired bleach blond hair, brightly-colored face paint of the 80s. The black and white "Crow" Sting is obviously much better imagery in this day and age, but it's not original. TNA non-face-paint Sting just seems like a regular old guy with sunglasses and a black t-shirt, which isn't very interesting, either.

If the promos are for the Undertaker, I don't know how much longer he'll be around, and I think Vince McMahon was hinting that he would be the "guest host" of Wrestlemania, since Wrestlemania wouldn't be Wrestlemania without Taker, and I don't think he's physically ready for another go, especially with so little time for build-up.

The promo's scream sting. with that being said i can assure you its not sting. As much as i would love for it to be and for the chance of a Sting vs the Undertaker match i just dont see it happening. i think the promos are for the tanker and that alot of people are gonna be very disappointed. besides you need a year to do the sting and undertaker storyline one month wouldnt be good enough i think if sting does come in he will wrestle undertaker next year at WM28. undertanker and sting both go out in that last match. sting pins the tanker and ends the streak. besides sting is a much bigger name then the tanker.

I'll go with the crowd and say it's most likely for the Undertaker. Sting would be nice, but I think they'd be hyping it up a little more. Sting might wind up being the last name announced for the WWE Hall of Fame, which would work as an introduction.

As for the Wrestlemania host, I'm going with The Rock.

I agree. Why would you hype the Undertaker? Taker needs no hype. Besides, last I seen his character he got his butt kicked by Kane. So again, why the hype? Just makes no sense to me.

It would be good to see Sting, but in a way it would sadden me. He was the last real WCW icon that never gave in to money and sold out to Vince. But given his age I couldn't really argue with it. 10 years ago would have been different, even 5 years ago. But now both he and Taker need to seriously consider retirement. If they both can do that and go out with a huge Wrestlemania paycheck it would be a fitting end to both legendary careers.

One thing that I haven't really considered until this morning is that this could be another Chris Jericho return. He usually has some vignettes that precede him, and since everyone is focused on Taker / Sting, this would come across as a "shocker" if it's actually the rebirth of Y2J.

i just feel like alot of people are gonna be disappointed when its not sting. its possible it could also be wade barrett. i mean he is no longer nexus and needs a new gimmick. he was burried under chairs. even if its sting they should wait for WM28 to do the dream match. if you build it up for a year you would have the same viewers that wcw had in 96-99

Barrett has a new angle in the Corre . Plus even the WWE isn't dumb enuff to have an Englishman playing the part of a wild west gunslinger .

I have read the reason Sting hasn't resigned is he still wants to be relevant and for lack of good storylines. He is still a heavyweight main eventer and everybody knows it

ooh yeah sting can still preform and that is the problem tna had... they wanted to go to a new generation but sting was still on of the top ten in ring preformers on the roster

I doubt its really Sting, I still remember interviews where he said he would never sign with the WWE, unless Vince really money whipped him into coming. WWE has the same next generation movement that TNA has if that's the case.

If he didnt go after WCW closed in 2001, he's not coming now, I think like everyone else its yet another Undertaker return.

well WWE is kinda of getting some legends in the mix still. like the king wrestling for the WWE title and some of stuff. i do doubt its sting. he is my all time favorite. here is a good question on the chance it is sting.... who wins at wresltemania him or the taker

Did anyone else think it was hysterical that TNA copied the same hype with Sting coming back? Even the numbers were almost the same at the end. In some ways I thought it was funny but in some ways it was sad that TNA had to copy WWE outright. Showed real creativity.

Want to know whats really funny since tna tapes their shows two weeks in advance i already found out that sting beats jeff hardy. So sting gets that ugly belt.
