Are the stories in the true stories thread actually "true stories" ?

Are all the stories in the true stories thread actually non fictional? Some of them seem too ridiculous to be true. I won't take names or mention any particular story as I haven't read them all, but there are stories which have different parts and chapters. I mean, you can have 1-2 tickling incidents with someone, but have chapters after chapters with someone, each more unbelievable than the previous one, just seems too good to be true.

What do you guys think? Also this question is for the moderators, is there any way to differentiate the "actual true stories" with the "made up true stories" ?

Unless you know the poster in real life, there is only speculation about any particular story posted in the "True Tickling Stories" forum.

I'd always adhere to utmost good faith, if the author is saying it's true, then ergo, it's true..

However there's always going to be a wee bit of poetic license used!

My philosophy is simple: if the story is 100% factual then it goes in True Stories. If it is only partially based on a true event then it goes in the Tickling Stories section. Thus of all my stories that I have posted (literally dozens) only several are listed under True Stories. But that’s just me, I’m sure others approach it differently.

If someone posting about incredible things they do with their spouse or partner, I tend to believe them. If it’s just a rando person like a neighbor or something and it’s incredibly out there, I tend to raise an eyebrow.

It's impossible to be 100% sure if the true story is really a true story. I think many of them are, some might be mostly true but with some "improvements", and others are just fictional stories pretending to be true. It's really about the trust, because no one can verify the authenticity of one's post. Having said that, I think there are some ways to spot a fake true story.

Firstly, I would say that if the story is extreme and has a lot of hardcore tickling, but - like Toesheldback mentioned - involves close friends or partners, it can be true. If it involves some random people, but the tickling is "simple", than it is also believable.

I'm also always a bit sceptical about the true stories taking place in the office, place of work, hospital or other public spaces, involving coworkers or strangers. It's not that they are definitely fake, but if they have an unlikely scenario, like doctor purposefully tickling a patient for several minutes or a lawyer agreeing to be tickled in her office, they also might be fictional.

Also, if the person posting a story has previously posted may different true stories, involving various extreme scenarios, it might also indicate that their true story is not really true.

And then there are stories like: I visited my girlfriend's family for the first time. Suddenly she, her mother and her sister (who are all beautiful, skinny and barefoot), stripped me naked, tied to a bed, gagged me and tickled me for several hours. Those are most likely fake.

Would someone really do that? Just go on the internet and tell lies?

I think most of the stories in the true stories section are true but embellished (including the ones I had when I had them) - they're describing things that did happen, in the broad strokes, but exaggerating some factors and glossing over others. This is the case with basically any other place where people trade stories, and I don't think its a problem. No-one wants to be the asshole at the fishing club asking for proof you really caught a salmon that big.

That said, you can usually tell the difference between exaggeration and outright lies - there's a difference between claiming your college girlfriend was hyper-ticklish everywhere and claiming that your boss tied you up to tickle-fuck you in the middle of the office for 2 hours. But I guess there's no way to prove that didn't happen, so all you can really do is roll your eyes and move on.

To be honest, I usually give them the benefit of the doubt. Nothing is impossible between people and what people get up to never ceases to amaze me. So it always amazes me when I see so many no this story has to be fake comments.

Many stories are told of Zaphod Beeblebrox’s journey to the Frogstar.

Ten percent of them are ninety-five percent true.

Fourteen percent of them are sixty-five percent true.

Thirty-five percent of them are only five percent true.

And all the rest of them are told by Zaphod Beeblebrox.

I’ve only written one but it was 100% true. I wrote it because I was kind of discovering my own ticklishness so it was helpful to gauge other opinions.

The ones I've written are true. One thing I've discovered as I've gotten older is that people are usually a lot more open and willing than I originally thought.

When I was younger I was terrified of mentioning feet or tickling in any context for fear or being called weird or banished. But it turns out quite often people are interested and willing to give it a go, so I've ended up with some true experiences to write.

I'd say "mostly true" in that I mix up names and other details to protect identities, and try to flow things together into more of a story arc instead of just bulleting out the facts.

After a session, I'll brain-dump what happened as an outline with some notes and then go back later and dress it up.

It can be hard to get across the nuancey little competitions and grudges that make a story more interesting, so I might play those up for dramatic effect.

I've been lucky to have some great sessions in the last couple of years, thanks mostly to (1) my friend M getting interested in the kink, and (2) having built enough experience over the years to lend credibility to my CV as a "bondage demo host."

I'll add (3) that my wife Laura is a terrific, playful, sane, comforting influence among people who might not otherwise let some old guy into their house with a session bag.
