Something Maggie/Daisy said on her thread "Cute Halloween story" got me thinking...

I went on a 'haunted trail' through the woods the other night. It was a lot of fun, mostly because I love having the crap scared out of me! I get a very similar initial rush from that as I do from tickling...

I also love the thrill of a safe scare, such as amusement park rides and abduction fantasies. I have an opportunity to go ballooning and I can't wait. But I'm not at all interested in really dangerous things like extreme sports or really disgusting things like horror movies. Safe-thrill experiences do feel inside very like tickling experiences.

So, ticklephiles, are you seekers of safe thrills or even dangerous thrills? What else besides tickling do you find thrilling?

I'm certainly a ticklephile, but I don't like being scared, even if it's "safe." I guess I'm just not a thrill-seeker. Perhaps that's why I love tickling--it's the only thing that gets me excited that I don't mind! 😀

P.S. I think horror movies are STUPID and extreme sports are cool to WATCH. 😛

P.P.S. I love the new logo, TC! Somehow it seems to suit you. 😉

Boring

I'm not, I even obey the speed limit.

I choose foods for nutrition first.

I try to awaken within a 30-minute window each day.

Thrill seeker ? Just the opposite, I would say.

Perhaps I shouldda'been a banker.

Not a thrill seeker

But just posting on this board is quite a thrill for me.

Tickle crazy...

Well, obviously you can count me among the thrill seekers. I love horror movies, roller coasters, scary halloween stuff, etc. And I don't know if this counts, but I also have fantasies about being abducted and/or having a burglar come in and tickle me. Of course, this is pure fantasy...in reality I think I'll stick to role playing! With any of the above I get a real rush (similar to that of tickling).
I went parasailing once. That was definitely a rush! I was up over 300ft. in the air, and being pulled along by a speed boat. I'm usually a bit of a coward when it comes to heights, but for some reason I didn't mind it too much this time. Loads of fun!
However, I don't get into any real "extreme sports." I don't think it's particularly wise to take your life in your hands just for the sport of it. In my mind, life is far too precious to waste on something like sports. That's just my opinion though...

Thrill seekingly yours,
Maggie
😀

I'm a big adrenaline junkie. I love the thrill of theme park rides and I'll do anything for a dare. ( Especially when drunk! 😉 )

Yet another attempt to find a common trait fails. We certainly are a diverse group!

Alexander, differences are interesting. I can't imagine feeling uncomfortable with being safely scared. If my heart rate never races with anxiety and anticipation I hardly feel alive. Hey, I like your new logo too. I'd like to figure out how to animate mine like that.

P50, I'd like to shake up your life! :rotate:

Novus, posting on this board thrills me too.

Maggie, ditto on all! I would definitely count abduction or intruder stuff in this category.

Whoa BigJim, I'm not thrill-seeker enough to dare you! You're probably a force of nature all on your own :wowzer: 😛

Wondering what others have to say on this topic.

I hope I'm not hijacking this thread by replying! 😀

TC, it's not that I don't ever feel any passion for life. I guess one might say that I take calculated risks. I will say that I'm not exactly like P50 in that I usually exceed the speed limit (as long as it's safe and no cops are around, of course 😉) and I choose foods for taste. 😛 To each her or his own, I always say! 😎

My new logo was created by (who else?) Ray. I know nothing about animation (except what I've seen on TV) so maybe you could ask him to animate yours for you. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't mind! 🙂

not a thrill seeker

Just thought I'd add my little comment in here. I am definately not a thrill seeker. I mean, maybe safe thrills like what some of you already mentioned here before. But as far as really extreme stuff goes, not my kinda fun. Now maybe you all have an idea why I picked the name that I did. 😉

"The Force is strong with this one!" 😉

Harcore Thrill Seeker here....

Oh hell yeah. I've done skydiving, spelunking, bunjee jumping, white water rafting, spent the entire last summer trip in Great Adventure only going on roller coasters and thrill rides nonstop, etc......and, I'm A NEW YORKER!!! How much more of a thrill seeker can you get? LOL...I definitly agree that tickling is one more thrill to add to the list...😀

What in the name of Satan's portion is spelunking??? 😕 😕 😕

Isn't spelunking cave exploring? I never knew how to spell it! 😛

Thrill seeker? Hmmm....
The older I get the more of a thrill seeker I am. There isn't much I won't do to get the experience. I draw the line at heavy pain and most illegal things. hehe :wow:

I have to say that one of the funnest things I've ever done was ride passenger in an airplane that was doing a Mary-Lou Retton impersonation. hehe. Aerobatics are cool! WOOHOO!

Defenition: Spelunking

I had to go down to New Mexico to do this one. It basically means "cave diving" and involves finding a big hole in the earth exposing a deep, expanisive cave system that can really only be reached by hooking yourself to the surface with cables and scaling the whole way down. Cave systems best for spelunking go straight down for miles with few places to stand, so you're hanging off of walls and lowering yourself down via ropes and cables the whole time, basically like reverse mountain climbing. Going down instead of up.

This particular cave was like a big crack in the earth, like someone ripped it with a large knife. The main chamber below was about a mile in circumference and 3 miles down, where it met ajoining caves that branch out from that point like tree roots. Actually the main reason I was there was to try bunjee jumping into the cave! WHAT A FUCKING RUSH!!! WOOHOOOO!!! After me and my friends pooled enough money to rent the equipment, we headed down. You have no idea how dangerous this particular activity is...but well worth it...simply breathtaking. Imagine being 2 miles below the earth, crawling between two massive sheets of slate with a space barely large enough to breath for over 40 feet at a slugs pace, but finally coming out the other side beside an underground river chamber adorned with crystaline structures like only mother nature could imagine....

WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER?!?!? HELL NO!!! Not when you know what to do with the time you do have! LIVE YOUR FUCKING LIVES PEOPLE!!!

Aha! Now I know. I've seen cave diving on the TV, but it was done with parachutes then, not ropes. Sounds like fun CC.

Alexander, LOL, a hijacking would be really thrilling! 🙂

I have no doubt, by the way you debate on some threads, that you must be an empassioned person. You're absolutely right, viva la difference! My kid ate a jalapeño by mistake and turned out to like it. That didn't come from any of my 23 chromosomes!

Yes, Ven is a master and generous too. I just have to know how to do it myself.

Yes, I am

Very much a thrill seeker. Dangerous...or otherwise.

Cheers. 😀

P.M.S. What's worse than dangerous thrill seeking?

mouse girl, I predict you will have a long and healthy life, unlike Cheshire here.

Cheshire, please say you made a video of that awesome cave experience! I hope your tickles tonight were a major thrill :evilha:

JoBelle, wow you sound pretty wild. Depending on how much confidence I have in the pilot, I might or might not take that ride. Pain? definitely no. Illegal? definitely not worth it.
