Playability of clips

I have updated my player twice now, and am on mediaone player at the moment. It seems like every time I go to download a clip, there is come new software required. Mediaone says it will find it, and then tells me it isn't available. This occurs nearly every time I try and download a clip. Does anyone have any advice about this? Thank you!
