Updates @ annoxanti.com...

So... you think tickling art is a shallow art genre?

Read my illustrated "Artickle":
http://annoxanti.com/Article1WhyDrawTK.shtml

This is just the start of illustrated TK articles about some essential or controversial and forgotten matters about tickling. I will also accept contributions from the community, if anyone will be interested.

Acknowledgment to MTJpub and AnnieHall: thank you for the support...

Am not so sure i understand what ure saying but i'll try and give my opinion about it

I find tickle art rather wide in opportunities and range of possibilities. Not only can u draw life like situations but the fantasy setings u can make aswel are just awsome.True hands and feet aswel as facial expressions are hard to do but it's something u do need to learn when doing this genre.

So shallow?? naa i think not , besides if u can draw tickle art perfectly doesen't that mean ure good at drawing human figures for other types of art.

Thanks for the reply, skull108... yes it is wide in opportunity but very specific, unlike the typical mainstream comics. The Article is written to emphasize that tickling art has depth the way I see it for quite a while, the strongholds bear importance to me, but more inclined to the execution of figure drawing.

I am aware the word "shallow" will stir reactions.

U mean the realism of the drawn characters ?? ofcourse the realer it looks thelcloser it can get to reality.

There is, as Skull mentioned already, much opportunity in tickling art. To deny that would be to deny something about it which fascinates the artist that takes the time to draw. From tyklfynd to Rajee and everyone in between who has ever picked up a pencil and drawn a character being tickled.

There is just something in there that we can't really explain or point out that just makes it it. I wouldn't go so far as to say it is good enough to make it mainstream, but I'd never go so far as to say it should not be recognized.

But there is something there. It's a widely variant subject, and it gives a chance for everyone to have input. Some people can't do really great tickling monsters, so what do they do? Draw tentacles. Or feathers. Or even more interesting, they use completely abstract ideas such as your use of musical notes, which I have to say, crossed my mind a few times back, but I couldn't ever get it out in as much beauty as you put there.

My...many cents.

Shallow? Yeah, I think yes and no.

If you look at it from the side of detail, in most cases it definitely wants more detail in especially hands and feet to get the effect that the viewers like. Then on the other side, facial expressions are different than what you see in mainstream comics/animations, but also quite limited. Mostly limited to laughter or trying not to laugh. While this allows a certain amount of variation, it often comes down to a particular pattern.

When taking into account artists and quality artwork: There are a lot more mainstream aftists than there are TK artists. Naturally. So that's why it may be a lot harder to find good tk artwork, which you could translate to that a lot of the artwork found is somewhat 'shallow'.

Shallowness may also be a factor of repetition. How many times can you see another person drawn in stocks again and still stay interested? a hundred times? two hundred? five hundred? The more drawings of someone in stocks (as an example), the less variation you tend to get. Tickling can be even a restriction to variation, simply because it usually evolves similar lines, repetitive laughter, common phrases and expressions. This can get old real fast and especially in those situations it is even more important that the artwork is looking especially good, to make up for the lack of something new or different.

But it has also been proven, especially in comics, that there is a lot of stuff possible around the theme and some of the less repeated concepts can make great impacts on the community.

I myself always try to stay fresh and bring variation, but this can be a difficult thing from time to time.

Just my two cents...
