I've posted before about my aunt the astrologer. She got into astrology as a result of events in her life, which are personal to her, and I will not post about. She essentially believes in it as a "Gospel", so to say. While I dont hold it to the degree she does, I do believe there is definitely something to it.
For example.. my aunt has told me that my "12th house", which means enemies, and times of bad things.. etc.. is Aries.. and in the month of April. The month of April is usually terrible for me.
Of course, my mom died in April 2012. I've had major financial issues hit me, and once had a seizure, in April., My paternal grandfather died in April. My aunt also told me that in spite of the Drs in NJ delcaring my mom cancer free, there is an astrological reason that my mom got the brain cancer, and died, and that all her planets were in the House of Death.
I also told her about my favorite news guy in Philly, Jim Gardner. Mr Gardner is born May 17 1948. Supposedly, he is in my "1st House", which my aunt says means people who you get along with. She told me that I have many astrological ties with Mr Gardner, and that if I knew him personally, or worked for him at WPVI, I would probably be friends with him.
Each month the moon spends 2 or 3 days in each astrological sign. I try not to go gambling when the moon is in Aries, as I usually lose then.
Three of my family members. My uncle. (9-22) Paternal Grandmother (10-6), and my dad.
(10-9) are all Libras, and as everyone knows, I've had problems with all of them. My aunt said that with my dad, in spite of our many fights and estrangements, there is a love tie that brings us back.
As for my mom, my aunt told me that my mom and I had great ties, with only one real negative one. My aunt said that my mom was benefical to me. No kidding. As I look back, many of the fights my mom and I had were often caused by me. As much as I loved her, I think there were times I was very selfish, and didnt consider her enough. My dad talks about how I went "Above and Beyond" with taking care of her, and being with her when she was sick. I dont agree. I did it because I loved her, and wanted to support her, but I also felt it was my responsibility as her son to be with my terminally ill mother.
Anyhow, not to digress. I'm using examples of my life to discuss astrology, and I'm just posting to find out if anyone believes in it.
