(This is a work in progress)
I walked into the room
To catch a Sunday show
I saw your pretty face in the left side of the 14th row
Marilyn's smile and Audrey's eyes
A vision that I drank in
Why was I alone, while you were sitting there with him?
I never will forget that night at the movies
The real show was nowhere near the screen
Neither Brian's Life or Norman's knife
Could distract me from the scene
Why could you never see what my eyes tried to tell you?
That you were the only one that I ever loved.
Then the curtains rise
And i realize
I may never see you again
Several years have passed
The dramas turn to lies
I can't bear to watch them kiss
Without dreaming of the voodoo in your cinematic eyes.
Then that night in the dark
In the glow of black and white
I turn to see the 14th row and and there you are in my sight
No greater tale could be seen at the movies
No greater story could be told
Though the stars now show their age
Your beauty remains so bold
Will you ever see what my heart yearns to tell you?
That you are the only one that I ever loved?
Now the curtains have closed
And I slowly rose
To see I have lost you again...
I find my way back to my car
My shoulder feels a trace
With no conscious intent
I turn to see your face
I am lost in your smile
You shyly say hello
I reach out and touch hour hand
The credits start to roll...
