One day,. during all this pain, Ross got so fed up, that he decided to call Fritz and Steve, and a nurse, and just "Go" to OKC.
The problem was, that Ross did not inform the VP in the "proper way" and when Kayley did learn of his plan, Kayley was terrified, and furious!
Early one morning, after Kayley had gone to work, Ross awakened with yet more pain.
Ross decided to ignore it, and called Mister P "Can I just come down today? I will stay however long I have to. I will bring a nurse, and we will do whatever" Ross said.
"How about the VP?" Fritz asked.
"Mister P, you let me worry about the VP. Do you want me to come down?" Ross said.
"Of course, partner. We always want to see you and do work with you" Fritz said.
"Fine. I will be there before the end of the day" Ross said.
Ross called a nurse, who would be there in 2 hours, then called the office, told them he had to go to OKC for an "Emergency" Then, he packed clothes, the nurse came, and he went to JFK.
In the Uber to JFK Ross texted Kayley. "Emergency in OKC. Will be back in 2 days, maybe 3" Ross said.
Kayley called. "What's the emergency?"
"I dont know exactly yet. Mister P and Steve just told me to come. A nurse is with me" Ross said calmly.
"You must know how pissed I am, and that I think you're a dumb ass, but you do as you please" Kayley clipped.
"So? Be pissed and think I'm a dumb ass. We will talk about it when I get home" Ross said.
"Fine!" Kayley exclaimed clicking Ross off.
Ross was wheeled through security and on to the plane by a nurse. The nurse gave him his pain meds, and Ross tried to sleep on his way to OKC. He had shooting pains from his head down to his toes. Ross knew he was not being wise, but at that point, he was so tired of feeling like an invalid, Ross simply did not give a fuck as long as he was working.
Ross and the nurse went through the two plane flights to DFW and OKC. Then, the woman he was with wheeled Ross through the airport, into the office, and upstairs.
"Partner! So good to see you!" Fritz bellowed.
"Excellent to see you both too. So happy to be here" Ross said, shaking Fritz and Steve's hands.
"Did VP say anything?" Fritz said.
"She told me she is pissed, and called me a dumb ass, but I will worry about her later. What's up?" Ross said.
"Two company looks that we can do here in the office, and a Zoom field show. You wont be leaving this office except to go to dinner with us and to your hotel. You will stay tonight and tomorrow, and be out of here the day after" Fritz said.
Ross smiled. "Sounds great"
"Let me call Pat Roseman, the first guy. I told him we would call when you get here. One call wtih hm, get numbers, if we like, we close it between 60 and 90 days. He has some nice little fields for us to either stick investors or sell to gas stations" Fritz said.
Ross, Fritz, Steve, and Pat Roseman had a productive hour long phone call. Pat was asking between 50 and 100 mil for his company. RFS evaluators would go in, look at it, and they would likely settle . It looked like a "75% Chance"
The next call was with Melville Smith. (No affiliation with Ross's client Mel at RossShell) Melville had another company, He wanted 100 mil firm, but the men knew they could ""haggle. " Ross, Fritz and Steve took a quick look at the company, and said RFS would look at it, and either turn down or make an offer within 15 to 30 days.
"Dinner tonight, Zoom show tomorrow, then get out of here. Two companies, and one show is enough" Fritz said.
Ross saluted Fritz. "Yes' Sir. "
Ross, Fritz, Steve and the nurse went to dinner. Then, Ross went back to the hotel, with the nurse in the suite with him with the door open in case he needed her.
Ross had taken his meds, and about 1 am, the phone rang. It was Kayley, and she was crying.
"Are you okay? Whats the matter?" Ross asked.
"I'm , I'm sorry. I should not have lost it at you like that. I'm scared you not being here Ross. You left in such a huff" Kayley said.
"I'm sorry too. Kale, please look at it from my point of view. I feel like an invalid. I have Tazzio making up false claims. The office is a nightmare, when I can get in there. I cant just run away at will when I want to due to these damn shooting pains. I will be home tomorrow night, I promise. We had a productive day today, will do a Zoom show tomorrow, and I will be home, late at night, I promise" Ross said.
"O. okay" Kayley sniffed.
Please get some sleep. I will call you tomorrow to let you know my flight. Sweet dreams, VP"
"You too, energy boy" Kayley said, blowing Ross a kiss through the phone.
The next morning, Ross awakened. The nurse gave Ross a sponge bath because it was not wise for him to go into the shower with his pain and dizzy spells.
Then, Ross, Fritz, Steve, and the nurse had breakfast, and everyone went to the office.
A Zoom show was done, with 200 potentials. The foreman knew that Ross could not come to the field due to Ross's condition.
About 75 signed up. "Fair" as Ross's father would say, but not bad.
Steve and Fritz drove Ross and the nurse to the airport. They made a 4 pm flight which landed at JFK at 930, and were home at 1015.
When Ross and the nurse got upstairs, the nurse said. "I will stay until the morning to make sure Ross is okay. I think physically he is okay, probably just tired. " The nurse said.
"I will help him with that" Kayley said, as they undressed Ross, and got him into bed.
"So, was it worth it?" Kayley said, coming near Ross and kissing him,
"It was fine. Ah, what's with the kissing? I thought you are pissed at me?" Ross said, confused.
"I'm furious with you, but I also love you, and I'm so happy you're home. I want to kiss you. Just shut up and let me kiss my energy boy, okay?" Kayley said, smooching Ross.
"Yes, VP" Ross said, as he smooched Kayley.
Ross and Kayley held each other, until Ross had taken his meds, and dropped off to sleep.
Kayley got up about an hour later to use the bathroom, and get a drink.
She heard Ross's cell phone beeping, and looked at it.,
It was from Alan Hell.
"Sorry to message so late. I dont know where you are. Tazzio is into harassment. Vic called me and told me he is calling the office , issuing threats. I'm trying to get an order to have him arrested. Ross, you and I both know that Tazzio may "Know people" I suggest you call me tomorrow ASAP and keep this from Kayley.
Kayley's mouth opened in horror.
It seemed that Ross and Kayley might now need 24 /7 body guards to protect themselves from "Tazzio, and "his men"
Why? Why? Was Tazzio so obsessed with Ross?
Why could Tazzio not leave Ross alone?
How would Kayley break the news of Hell's text to Ross?
All of that would be seen.
