autographs...what's the deal??

i don't understand people seeking autographs..what's the deal with that? i mean it's a signature on a piece of paper..i guess i just don't understand the fascination...ah me..

Well, they can become quite valuable, or can be just fantastic collectors items i guess. After all, they are kinda the proof that youve met famous peepz.

Izzers, there's a lot of life you don't seem to understand. BUT! To explain, the autograph is tangible proof that you have, in fact, met the people you say you've met. And don't give me some crap about how you don't understand the fascination with celebs. If you met Mr. Diesel today, we'd all hear about it for a year. 😉

If I met a celebrity I really admired, which would be a rare occurrence since I hate most of them, I might want an autograph as proof, to save the memory and help tell the story, etc. Or I might want it to sell on Ebay. We ARE in a recession.

i once met Richard Simmons in an airport..but damn if i was going to ask him for anything..he looked at me twice..my father in law grrr he had to go and say.."Aren't you?" and Richard said.."Yes that's me." gesh i was so damn embarrassed...

the hollywood brother thinks that when you meet a tickle celbreity it is cool, but you are also right in that it just a bit of paper. the hollywood brother is not a big autograph guy but if people want the hollywood brother signature, then the hollywood brother will give it to his millions and millions of hollywood brother ticklish fans

A signature is also a little bit of history. If you were lucky to meet somebody who was famous or successful in some endeavor it's nice to have that little scribble. It's nice to have something to talk about if you have friends over. "Remember this guy who did blah blah 25 years ago. Well I met him at this thing... etc". It's a very nice thing to have.

That's why you really need the story to go with it. Just watch the Antiques Road Show having a good story really impresses people. Plus, I think that your friends would know if you are BSing them or not.

well when you get an autograph sometimes you get to spend a second with the star and you get a valuable piece of paper that can make you lots of money on Ebay!

Well i guess its a few sseconds of fame, a item of value for ebay,but when one gets older looking back at the autographs is a reminderof times events and people, places you have been and an era you took part in,been to the caven seen the beetles, type of thing. i agree that somtimes people are rude and dissapointing.
