Avatar Picture

Hey everybody, I've got a question and would value your esteemed opinions. My little avatar picture on the side is getting sort of old. When I first signed up in 2003 I made it as a temporary icon until I could get a better one, but I've just been so lazy that I never have. In fact, I threw it together in about 30 seconds in mspaint. Either way, I'm getting around to it now. Before I do though , I would like to hear your thoughts on it first. What do you think?

Is it creepy or should I stick with it?

Hey, why not try something new. Experiment a little and have some fun! I've changed my avatar about four times so far. You can always resurrect the Demented Smiley Face if you think you've made a mistake. It'd be like seeing an old pal again. Personally, I like him. He is creepy indeed, really makes an impression. Totally distinctive! Nothing wrong with that!

I like the current avatar, but if you want to try something different, I say go for it. You never know when you'll hit one that you really like 🙂 When in doubt, go with what works!
Speaking of avatars, LBH, what is yours? I've been looking at it, trying to figure it out.

Thanks for asking, Socks! It comes from Chapter 3, page 15 of my Low Road series. I was going to change avatar pictures each time I submitted a new chapter, but I think I'll keep this one a while. I rather like it.

I like it. Creepy indeed, but likable nonetheless. Though, I would suggest experimenting with other avatars, maybe changing this one for now. See which one suits you. Like lbh said, you can always ressurect it later, so I say change, experimant, then choose the one you like best.

Speaking about avatars, I gotta change mine sometime soon.

Here is another quick mock-up for one. This time, done in photoshop! I will have to work on it a little bit more, but what do you think?

you might wanna skip the shadows behind the eyes and mouth, unless that's the look you're going for. Maybe give him the evil V shaped eyebrows to complete his evilness. I was thinking version 2 might look like this.

Lol. That is a very scary thing on ebay. I'm not really going for something evil looking, just something unusual. i sorta liked the shadows though, I was trying to make it sort of 3d. Thanks for the suggestion though, I might try one just to see how it comes out. 😀
