Ross went to OKC on that Tuesday. His plane landed, Fritz and Steve picked Ross up at the airport, they went for lunch, and then back to the office.
"Okay, today we plan. Tomorrow is the computer video show with Alan and the reps. Then, we hook Alan into a call with the field foreman to have the field foreman explain to Alan the investment, the time frame, and such. Hopefully, and maybe this is optimistic, before you, Ross, set foot in New York again , we will have Alan, and hopefully many others from his firm signed up as a nice little starter. After that, it is off to the moon!" Fritz said.
"Sounds just great, my best friend and partner" Ross said.
Ross , Fritz, and Steve had lunch, dinner, and planning meetings to specifically lay out what everyone was going to say to Alan and anyone else from Alan 's firm who they talked to.
That night, Steve and Fritz drove Ross back to his hotel. Ross of course called the teacher.
"Planning meeting today, call with Alan and other people tomorrow. Least case scenario, one hundred, realistically, two fifty, best case scenario, five hundred to one thousand" Ross said.
"And how is the oil and gas man, most importantly?" Kayley asked.
"Tired and missing the teacher, but I'm okay, and how is the teacher?" Ross asked.
"Missing you, and concerned, but I know this will be a good thing" Kayley said.
"Kale, there is a very strong possibility that Alan and many people from his firm will sign. Someone told me to turn his marketing work from RossShell to another firm to avoid "mixing the pot" but, I promised Alan myself the day I met him that I would handle all of his work myself. Going back on that could cause the whole house of cards to crumble. Let me do his work, sign however many people we can from his firm to the energy company, and then talk to him about everything" Ross said.
"Sounds like an excellent well thought out plan. Sweet dreams, will talk to you tomorrow" Kayley said.
"I love you, forever, teacher" Ross said.
"Likewise" Kayley said.
The next morning, Ross awakened, showered, dressed , went to the office for pre discussions with Fritz and Steve, and then, got on the call with Alan, talked to Alan, and then let Alan talk to the field foreman about the specific "numbers"
"Alan, thank you for talking to us. We appreciate your interest, and sincerely hope we can work well with you. While this is a new field, and no one can really "predict exactly", ,my view is a twenty five percent yearly return on say a one hundred grand investment within two years, escalating going forward, increasing for twenty years, leveling off, and then maybe decreasing somewhat. " The field foreman said.
"How long after anyone invests do they get their first payout?" Alan asked.
"Thirty to ninety days, depending on legal clearance, bank clearance, etc. First check will be about one thousand per month, increasing. doubling at first the first year, then going from there" The foreman said.
"Sounds great to me. How about, once we do this,. I double my investors, fifty at first, another fifty within ninety days, and so on, I think I can get you five hundred investors by the end of the first year" Alan said.
"Sounds wonderful, Alan. Thank You,and this will be mutually beneficial for all of us" the foreman said
"Okay, so we are set then. Ross and I will discuss the details. Ross, when will you be back in town?" Alan asked.
"Two to three days, I will be in the office on the fourth day, but just call me anytime, if I'm out with Fritz and Steve and cant hear you, I will take the call in the office here, or at my hotel room" Ross said.
"Excellent. Gentlemen, may we have a long, profitable, productive relationship" Alan said, and hung up.
Ross sat quietly, then let out a cowboy yell and high fived Fritz and Steve
"Gentlemen, we did it! We pulled it off! " Ross said.
"Time for a celebration lunch!" Fritz said, bouncing out the door with Ross and Steve with him.
Ross, Steve and Fritz went to a big steakhouse, where Ross texted Kayley.
"All is rearing to go! We think five hundred investors within the first year, starting with twenty five and then fifty" Ross texted.
"Wonderful, talk later" Kayley said,
Ross, Fritz and Steve spent the next day and a half going to a field, looking over production output numbers, and meeting with the forepeople.
Late on the second day, Fritz said.
"Ross, get the Hell out of here, and go home! We did what we had to do. I think we will be selling this whole gas output of this field to Alan and his firm. After that, we keep signing, take a deep breath, and keep drilling" Fritz said.
"After we sign Alan to the gas contracts, I will do one or two draft projects for him with RossShell, and then ask him if he wants me to keep doing his marketing and PR work for his firm, or if he thinks that is too much of a mixing, and ask if he wants me to recommend him to a friend of mine. He's the client, we have to keep him happy, so it is his decision" Ross said.
Ross, Fritz, and Steve ate an early dinner, after which Fritz and Steve drove Ross to the airport, and he got on a late night flight to JFK, changing in Dallas, and landing early the next morning.
When Ross got home , it was Friday, Kayley had a long weekend for a school holiday, and she was dozing.
Ross undressed, and quietly climbed into bed.
"I did not tell you something because you were away" Kayley said, with a worried look on her face.
What did Kayley have to tell Ross?
That remained to be seen./
