I got my wisdom teeth pulled today, and my mouth is throbbing....any of you guys have any home remedies?? Cause my medication aint' cuttin' it. Thanks.

Try ice or:

using a resealable freezer bag,mix 2 parts water with 1 part rubbing alcohol, and freeze. This will make a frozen slush that can be refrozen any number of times.Double bag it to prevent leaks.

I can't think of anything that helped my pain...because I didn't have any. I went to an oral surgeon ( uhh...huh huh huh..I said "oral" huh huh huh lol ) and he sorta put me to "sleep" ( meaning i was awake but didn't know it. ) He worked on my teeth for about 45 minutes. I think him taking his time really helped me. I had pretty much no hint of pain after the novicane wore off..just a little stiffness in my jaw.

Just wondering..how long did YOUR teeth pulling take? My cousins got theirs out in 15 mins and they had alot of pain afterwards. And like I said, I didn't have any.

Just a few words of advice, though: If your dentist told you to NOT eat a certain type of food for a certain amount of time....LISTEN to him . Eating food that you're not supposed to while you heal will only slow down the healing and maybe even make things worse. If he says "only liquids for two weeks", then it's only liquids for two weeks.

I remember when I went back to the oral surgeon after a few weeks to get my mouth checked out....and heard one girl complain that her jaw was hurting in the areas she was healing. She'd eaten some hard food when she wasn't supposed to yet. So anything your dentist tells you to NOT do, listen to him cause gettin extra dental work when you could've avoided it wouldn't be enjoyable, I'd think.

Hope your healing goes smooth. Oh yeah...and doesn't it feel freakin WEIRD having those back teeth missing? lol Don't worry, that feeling eventually goes away and your mouth will feel normal again.

You said it best, brother.

You know,

I went to my Dentist last week, and he informed me that I for sure only have two wisdom teeth (on top), and I will most likely be in my 30's before I need to have them pulled. So I have got about 10 yrs. left before I need to even begin to worry about it!!!
