Here, again, is my original elf character and the arrival of a new original character. Actual character names will be released later.

The scene is in continuity from the first piece of mine intitled "Bath Time".

I call this piece "Elsewhere", as our main character in this scene here IS there with her younger friend, but her mind is elsewhere as her friend talks to her.

I went for a manga-esque look with this piece, I think it looks neat. And, its helping me get practice for when it comes time to actually color and tone my future manga.

Enjoy. ^___^

Heh, hot springs are such fun. xD Well done with their faces, I must say. You did well in capturing their conversation, with her off in space somewhere and the other looking positively Kaolla Su-like.

Thanks. 🙂 I wanted to add a sort of dynamic to the picture in that she's listening but only partly paying attention which I felt was translated through the distant look in her eyes and in her slightly parted lips.

The fact her friend keeps talking adds a playful demeanor to her I think. Now that you mention it, she does remind me of Kaolla. She definitely is a playful character with alot of energy, so it is a good comparion to make.

Everytime I look at one of your pieces the welth of ideas and energy in it always jumps right out at me. Even if not everyone can understand it, I think it's safe to say that everyone can at least feel there's always lots going on in your pictures.

Thanks alot 🙂. I do put in extra effort in nuances and the settling up of a scene and explaining it and it always pays off for me. Sometimes it seems trivial to do that, but if the pictures are going to be in continuity with eachother, I think its important. I could simply draw a picture, but then it wouldn't be me and the pictures would lose something.

Most of my pictures are not simple, but they are easy to understand, or I try to make them as easy to understand as possible even if the situation is complex in and of itself. I also really like being able to relate what characters are feeling or doing to what we do in reality as people. I think in doing that it allows us to connect to them better or at least understand or appriciate what they're going through.

Sometimes simplicity is the key, sometimes its not, and sometimes its a mixture of things, but every time I'm glad when my work is appriciated at that level, in addition to the face value a viewer would take it at. 🙂
