Christopher Nolan and Tom Hardy both have a thorough understanding of the character, and I can't wait to see their interpretation of him.

This. Any incarnation of Bane I've ever seen besides the comic has been a lacklustre version at best. Even in the new Arkham video games, his intellectual aspect is lost completely in favour of making him a muscle-bound brute. This version will be much more interesting.

Agreed. All of Bane's appearances outside the comics also gloss over the fact that he hasn't used Venom since the Knightfall story arc, which always kinda bugged me.

I'm going see Mission Impossible IV because of the Dark Knight Rises preview......and then I'm staying because Brad Bird, a fantastic director, is directing his first live action movie!
(There's also a shot of the female actresses standing with shoes off, for you foot fetishists, an added bonus! If only she had on nylons, but hey, whatever!)

I see a lot of nerd/fanboy bitching about this movie, and I got to tell you, I'm so utterly perplexed by it:

They complained about Heath Ledger as the Joker, but I trusted Chris Nolan after....he got every movie he made fantastic!

And honestly, looking back, their supposed "dream casts" would have probably sucked - Crispin Glover was the biggest fan favorite, but the guy's fucking weird, and would he have been able to take direction, and would be have been fearless and thrown himself into the role like Ledger did? Probably NOT.

Anne Hathaway is my favorite actress, so fuck them nerds if they're not going, I'd just go for her! Her only competition is Michelle Pfeiffer, otherwise, you've got Haley Barry's version....

Bane didn't have the gimp mask on...thank GOD! First off, I love Tom Hardy, he's brilliant, funny. You couldn't have an actor of that caliber being covered up the whole time, and we would have missed out on all the facial acting. Oh, and the gimp mask is stupid...... Plus, the big wires sticking out the back of it...just shoot the wires, and he deflates, like in Batman and Robin, ha ha!

So Bane looks fantastic, and with Morgan Freeman, Christian Bale, in the only role where isn't completely dour and serious - Batman is probably his funnest role, as serious as that character is.
Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon Levitt....how can you go wrong?

I'm looking more forward to this than the Avengers!

(I am having serious fears about the Avengers. There was a preview showed somewhere, where Samuel Jackson is giving Loki this macho-man, testoraone tough guy speech that sounded like it went on and on, like Agent Coulson did in Thor, to Thor....I'm like, "Come on! Get on with this shit! "Ohhh, you're a bunch of cool badasses, ...now get to some story, dammit!")

Very, VERY excited about this movie. Going to be interesting how they explain Joker's absence though.

Still, as others have said, it'll be brilliant to see a vision of Bane that isn't just a mindless brute. I still get a little bit cross when I think what the Schumacher movies did to him.

Gonna see Mission Impossible because....well, the movie series has been awesome and Paula Patton (aka Mrs. Robin Thicke) is HAWT and a good actress! Definitely gonna see the new batman film next year and agree with everyone's sentiments on Bane's character. Just ordered Arkham City on Cyber Monday.....can't wait till it gets here 🙂
