Yes, and here is some basis for my opinion.
Some may jump on the fact that the 1955 Dodgers were only 98-55 for the regular season. But they started off 22-2, set a record for clinching the pennant at the earliest date recorded up to then (September 8), and, in the words of the Duke, coasted home, without worrying much about winning games the rest of regular season.
The 8 regular position players: C-Roy Campanella, 1B-Gil Hodges, 2B-Jim Gilliam, 3B-Jackie Robinson, SS-PeeWee Reese, LF-Sandy Amoros, CF-Duke Snider, RF-Carl Furillo
Some of the bench position players: Don Hoak, Don Zimmer, Rube Walker
The 4 regular starting pitchers: Don Newcombe, Carl Erskine, Billy Loes, Johnny Podres
Among the other pitchers: Clem Labine, Karl Spooner, Roger Craig, Don Bessent, and a 19-year-old kid with a blazing fastball (and no control over it yet) named Sandy Koufax.
