Before I start this thread, I want to make clear that I am NOT making fun of anyone, but it sure seemed like WPVI anchor Jim Gardner was during the 6pm news tonight.
I havent watched my favorite out of town newscast in more than two weeks. Jim Gardner was on vacation two weeks ago. Last week, he was covering the GOP convention, and someone else was in the anchor chair, so, I didnt bother to watch.
Tonight, with the holiday over, Gardner was back in his anchor chair. I also noticed in the opening credits of PVI's cast, it said this gentleman's name, Dueces Rogers. When it came time to do the sports, Gardner said something like "Although you've been here for a couple of weeks, this is our first broadcast together.. so welcome to PVI." After Rogers had given the sports, and turned it back to Gardner, Gardner kept repeating. "Dueces Rogers" .
As Gardner was doing this, he looked like he was ready to crack up laughing. When Gardner was talking to Cecily Tynan, PVI's long time weather girl, during the weather segment intro, the two of them kept saying "Dueces Rogers" over and over again.
Since I was unfamilar with Mr Rogers, I looked at his bio on PVI's site. Sure enough, he is very experienced, having been sportscaster at WCBS here in New York for a long time.
So, welcome to WPVI, Dueces Rogers. Great name.
