Yeah I've seen that ad here in England, but it wasn't actually a working device I don't think. I think it was more likely to have been a of CG or plit-screen at work to be honest.

Its a great clip. I used it a couple of months ago to demonstrate to my Science in Society class the nature of a Rube Goldberg machine. We then built our own...some of them were exceptional.

Rube Goldberg was an early cartoonist that produced comedic single or few panel cartoons with crazy super complex happenings. They were serialized by some publications and would appear at regular intervals. Kind of like the predecessor of the Family Circus cartoons where one of the kids wanders all over the neighbourhood, Goldberg's cartoons take you on a trip through a complex machine of happenings.

Actually...

...Right after I posted that, I did a Homer Simpson-esque "D'oh!" and remembered that I was LOGGED ONTO THE FRICKIN' INTERNET, and did a search on said same. Saw some pretty cool examples of his work, reminded me of those Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Looney Toons cartoons, with that music playing, what was it called, Dave? Something-Power-House-or-other. You'd know it if you heard it...
