Hi All! I have been thinking about posting this for a while now. Don't know why I've been putting in off.

In your opinion, what was the best TV show in recent memory?

As for myself, and a lot of you may agree\disagree with me on this, The Big Bang Theory.

As many of you may know the BBT had the series finale a few weeks ago. I'm still looking for something to fill that hole (and, yes. I know that sounds dirty, but I don't mean it that way). But, the BBT left some big shoes to fill.

I don't watch too much tv or even movies anymore because it all changed and it isn't the same as when I was growing up. Back in the 70's, my favorite show was Three's Company. In the 80's, it was Diff'rent Strokes. In the 90's, it was Unsolved Mysteries.

Today, it's all boring. I can't stand Desperate Housewives. That's most likely because I'm a guy and I can't stand gossiping and drama. I also can't stand Dancing With the Stars. I'm sorry, these celebrities make enough money as it is without coming up with a way for them to make more. Now if they came up with a show where they had a John Q. Citizen come in and compete, I'd be all for that because there are a lot of people out there who would love the opportunity that these celebrities have and could use the money.

Movies are also the same way. I was really disappointed in the movie The Mule. Here we have a guy who is known to be macho and a real bad ass become a drug transporter for the Mexican Cartel. I'll summarize the movie for you. I'm a horticulturist, I'm bankrupt, I work for the Cartel, I get my business back, I get the ever living hell beat out of me, I get caught, I'm in prison for the rest of my days working in the prison's garden. That's it in a nutshell. There are a couple movies that I'm interested in seeing. One is John Wick 3 and the other is Rambo: Last Blood. Anymore it takes a lot to impress me and anymore most seem like garbage.

I spend most of my free time on the computer. If I get bored with that, I'll watch a little bit of Homicide Detective because it's interesting how Detective Kenda was able to find out who killed who or Adult Swim if I need a chuckle or two.

I totally get you. I don't watch TV that much either.

I mostly spend my free time either online (or something on my Kindle) or playing video games.

I do have some appointment TV watching (Raw, Impact, DBS, EXT) but other than those few, I don't watch TV regularly. With BBT being an exemption. And, now it's gone, except reruns.

PS. The one exception is, I will watch more TV when I'm sick and don't feel like doing anything else.

I agree that The Big Bang Theory was the best show on broadcast TV in recent years.
For TV series on cable, my choice would be Boardwalk Empire.

My favourites are Black Mirror and How I met your mother. Absolutely brilliant! :upsidedow

Never heard of Black Mirror. What's it about? I am a fan of HIMYM too.

Another one of my newest favorites is "Whiskey Cavalier" .

And, can't forget "True Blood". Well, except for the 2nd season.

To me there has never been a better TV series than 1997's OZ

Close favorites would be Deadwood, Doctor Who, NYPD Blue, The Shield, Law and Order, Black Mirror, and Spooks, to name a few.
