I wanted to ask YOU guys this question (don't you feel special? 🙂 ), because it seems more appropriate to ask people on a fetish site, such as this one, than my friends in RL, cuz YOU guys would know the answer better then any of them.

ANYways, my q: WHY, oh why, do men (and possibly women, I guess) like big breasted women? WHY, oh why, are C Cup + breast so bloody awesome? Why do people just love love love to see huge melons on a woman? WHAT, oh what, is so bloody great about big boobs?

This question had plagued my mind ever since... Well, ever since I first found out that men go for big boobs. I mean, they're nothing but lumps of flesh on a woman's chest. Whoot, big deal!

But what are your guys' opinions? If you could answer this q of mine, I would be totally appriciated. (Not to mention wiser). 🙂

Theoretically a woman's breasts indicate her ability to feed your future offspring though the size of them has nothing to do with that. it's just more visible on a larger chested woman so it would explain the initial primal attraction.
Personally I dont see the fascination either. I hate mine and I'd cut em off if I could. These overly large breasted "sex symbols" with false, spherical boobs are just plain ugly if you ask me.

Diffferent guys like different atributes. Some like long legs. Some like great butts. Some like flat butts. Some like buxom women, some prefer flat. I guess it's just like the tickling fetish, all part of the wiring.

Anthropologically, it would be like Nessie said: bigger breasts...feed babies better (a myth physiolocially, but still a part of the subconcious mind set). Same with the waist to hip ratio. Wider hips would make it easier to give birth (larger/easier birth canal path) therefore better to pass on the alpha male's genetics.

It's instilled in men's genes to like breasts, and to be attracted to them. Because they're good for our babies. Babies drink breast milk.

Otherwise, we wouldn't breed. And that would be the end of humans, and the end of mankind.

I don't much like big boobs of either kind (breasts OR politicians) 😉 I think that although there is some biological basis to it, the sometimes obsessional quality of Western society's fascination with breasts is largely due to cultural factors. In other societies, different criteria, such as shape and size of buttocks or hips, have greater importance.

Beauty derives from proportion and unity. A large woman looks lush and sexy with large breasts. A slim and graceful sylph should be flatter chested. An example is how freakish Dolly Parton has looked for the last twenty years or so, with those legendary boobs on her stick-thin frame. In the 1960's and 70's, she was a gorgeous hunk of woman with lots of everything in all the right places. (She'd probably have a stronger voice today, too, if she'd eat something. But I digress.)

I actually remember seeing something about this on a TV show about the origins of sexuality....

One school of thought says that it comes from our own experience being breast fed as children, as its show statistically that men who are breast fed longer have a tendency to be more attracted to breasts than those who were weaned early. Coincidentally, these early stages of sexual development are also where our fetishes take root, due to being around such activities or areas of interest....

Genetisists claim that the core of human sexuality is so deeply rooted that is actually a part of our "genetic memory" that goes back to our primate anceastors. In the wild, large, lactating breasts were a sign of fertility on a very primordeal level. Certain aspects of our "animal nature" never change....no matter how far we evolve....

On a side note, another thing I saw was that among apes, when a female is in heat her sexual organs become red and enflamed which is apparently why many humans are attracted to red lips on a woman, in taps into a deeply rooted part of our sexual roots and genetic memory....

I don't get it either. I find it freakishly funny when people with big.....umm...you knows can look like they're carring water flotation devices under their shirts. Really I don't see what the big deal is. Maybe it's an ego issue.

Since your initial question, Mercury, has been well addressed by people with more insight than i could provide, would you mind if i explore a tangential angle to your question?

I wonder what makes some of us women seek to enhance our breast size. Probably it's partially because the western society really likes it and markets that quality as desirable for all the reasons named above.

I know i used to be dead against it. What God gave you when you were born that's what you should be happy with. But when i think of some friends who have had enhancements done, and have so far unsuccessfully tried to talk me into it - mine are small so you can be sure they're real :redface: (gawd! i can't believe i just said that out loud!) - it has really helped their self esteem. I mean, i may question whether it really makes them look any better. But they sure do feel better about themselves and I can't deny that it really does give the women i know a better outlook on life.

Okay, so not all of them. But for the most part yes.

The other thing is that we all do cosmetic enhancements of one form or another. High-heels, make-up, hair colouring, etc. It's all about altering our outward appearance to enhance our look and make ourselves feel good.

Anyway, I hope i haven't totally hijacked this thread. But these comments did seem germaine to the overall point Mercury expressed.

True, Val. For example, I would be considered a 'boob' guy. However, I don't get into 'beach ball' implants either. I perfer near proportion, or maybe a 1/2 cup larger (like I said...guilty as charged...) However, some body frames and even racial types would look horrid 'pumped up." I tend to look at the entire package...and if certain 'accessories' are sized well...then all be better for my eyes!

And. like anything else, how things are packaged is as important as the size....

You're so right, Val! Like you, i'm more comfortable being within the common norm for my Far Eastern genetics. Another thing too, i confess that having grown up mostly in the "West" and being typically Asian in build meant i didn't get the kind of "guy-gawks" that some of my 'bigger chested' friends had to put up with. I remember being secretly glad about being 'well back of the pack in the packing dept' so to speak, when i saw how the stares and leers sometimes affected them.

I'm beyond ample size and come from a line of family with the same issue. My youngest sister had breast reduction surgery several years ago-she was like a G cup or something. Talk about gawks, stares, and cat-calls? It was horrible even when we were kids. I've had more than my share of embarrassing moments as well. There's so much more to me than body parts.

If I had the money, I'd have surgery tomorrow. Things have gotten worse since having kids too. It's not all it's said to be.

True kis! I was an A-cup and skinny for years. When I gained a few, I ballooned to a D and it sucks. People are so rude about it, strangers stare and say things to your face as if I f'ing paid for them. I'd kill to go back to an A-cup~you look great forever!

i think it has something to do with evolution. when we went about on all fours the body part that drew us to our mates was the bottom, a large round bottom. as we started to walk upright the focus had to change and that is why i think men are drawn to large round breasts, espcially when they are lifted and mushed together like in a wonderbra, the cleavage makes our primordial minds think of a bottom. at least this is what was explained in sociology. and something about red lips (i.e. lips with lipstick) is supposed to make us think of vaginas but i dont remember too much about that, as i was high.

I've mentioned it before and I proudly mention it again: I am a big fan of natural, ample bosoms. Personally, I see it as the same as someone with a fascination for beautiful buns or long legs.

I've recently watched a documentary on the Discovery Channel which mentioned that large breasts, as with curvy hips and slender waists, indicate fertility. The male gender would naturally be attracted to female individual who's displaying her fertility. As mentioned a few posts up, this is an instinct.

On a higher level of consciousness, my fascination for the busty stamps from my admiration of wonderful curves and form created by them. There's a certain form of physical beauty from a large natural set that makes me marvel at how skillful nature can sculpt.

Of course, physical attractiveness is only skin deep. If woman are seen as objects of sex and lust, then men must be beer belching gorillas. My significant other isn't busty at all, but that didn't stop me from finding her beautiful.
