Biggest Sports Travesty

Just to get a guage of what people think is the biggest travesty in sport. This applies to all sport from US sport to european\asian to world sport with the olympics


For me, the #1 travesty is the 72 Olympic games when the Soviet team "beat" the USA basketball team for the gold medal
Very near the top would be the zinadine zidane headbutt, which yes he did but the supposed way it happened(the comments made to him)
and for a long term, id say Barry Bonds, who will end up breaking hank Aarons record for career homeruns and has done it on Steroids and is not willing to prove the world he's not on something. Yes he doesnt need to but if you have nothing to hide....

Also some other mentionable nuggets are the 84 NBA draft where the rockets and trail blazers did not pick Michael Jordan. I mrean it was great for the bulls franchise(yay) but for the blazers and rockets, ugh

In 2006: Super Bowl XL and the NBA Finals

SUPER BOWL XL The Pittsburgh Steelers vs. The Seattle Seahawks:
The officiating was a complete joke, every single time the Seahawks made a play the referees would screw them out of it. The Matt Hasselback "illegal block" or whatever that call was suppose to be, the "pass interference" on the Seahawks reciever, and the holding calls every time they made a huge thrid and long conversition, Seahawks fans you have a right to be pissed about that one.

The 2006 NBA Finals The Dallas Mavericks vs. The Miami Heat:
If you wore a Dallas Maverick jersey and were on the floor and was any where near Dwayne Wade it was a foul? Give me a break! If the guy tripped on his own shoelaces or slipped on a wet spot on the floor and a Mavericks player was within the range of a NBA official, the whistle was blown and Wade went to the line, but a Dallas Mavericks player like Devin Harris could get hammered to the floor adn he's told to get up and stop crying?

Goodie's travesty, the '72 Olympics basketball disaster, is certainly a good one. It was a joke.

The Yankees losing to Boston in the '04 ALCS after being up 3-0 has to be up there...

No matter what Bond's does,his leagacy will be tainted.Just like Mark Mcgwiers will.He is pretty much persona non grata in St. Louis from what i hear.Now the question becomes,are they going to get into the hall of fame?

A lot of people will not vote for them because of all the controversey.
