You Posted this in another thread, but it would have been off-topic for me to reply to you in that thread... so I figured our discussion could go here.

You made the post about God's answer being "NO"

First,

I can guarantee you that there IS a reason why that boy will not walk again. I do not know what it is, but God does. We all deal with trials and tribulations of this world, why are his any harder than ours? Because society views walking as a "big deal???"

Second,

It is not our obligation to judge whether or not God made the right call on his decision, we do not know... so we accept Him as God and therefore capable to make the correct decision. I know to a non-believer it is hard to understand why God would do that. First, understand that while God is infinately loving, He is also infinately Holy, which means that any sin is apart from Him. Second, He knows all and we do not!!!

Biggles, I have noticed many of your posts lately have been anti-God. And while that DOES NOT bother me, in fact I enjoy seeing differing viewpoints, I just thought that I deserved after your anti-God posts, to be able to make a Pro-God post!!!

Always up for a discussion about Jeebus first thing in the morning! Here we go...

I posted that story (which I didn't write, I just copied off another website), because of a comment that I think Kurch made about the answer to prayers being mostly 'no'. I just remembered that story as kinda funny and posted it to lighten the mood a little.

I didn't intend to judge anyone or anything or any specific omnipotent deity with that story. Once again, I just thought it was kinda funny. That website (The Onion) often takes a lot of the severity out of religion, and I like that.

About my posts being anti-god, I honestly didn't think they were. Which ones are you referring to? Perhaps you meant my sig... I just thought that was funny as well. I don't post with the intention of really pissing off the christians, or really pissing off the jews. Maybe sometimes when I get carried away that's what it seems like, but I promise I don't head out to target religion with 'anti-god' sentiments. Post Pro-God all you want! There are probably more religious people here than there are pagan commies like me.

Thanks for letting me know about this.

Biggles

But, I like pagan commies...

Cheers.😀

Biggles,

As far as the antil-God posting goes... whether or not you are with the jokes and stories you post doesn't matter. It is good for you to share viewpoints in oppostition to Christian society sometimes. It makes us think. SO THANK YOU...

As far as which posts, well you have the one with the prayers, and the one with the Christian gene... etc.

Ok

If you don't like God, or don't believe or whatever, Keep it to yourself. No one cares. I don't believe everything in the Bible, but I don't insult it and bring up how false it is at every chance.

Krokus,

What I am trying to say is that Biggles really does have the right to make jokes and stories about this. I mean I make the same jokes and stories about evolution and atheism... it's all for the sake of discussion. This is a forum and none of those comments are actual related directly to any one person or any people.

It's much different however to put down Christians as a people or people for their beliefs in God!

I know

I know....my statement was not directed at you.

Why do we have to give God limits to an ancient book of text that was TRANSLATED by people, people who are mortal and therefore make mistakes and cannot truly understand the word of God. Just my opinion.

Shining,

You have hit a big point. While the Bible is God's Word, it is interpreted by man, and so the best thing for a man to do when interpreting the Bible is to admit that he could be incorrect with his ideas and look to God to give him the correct truth from the Bible. If you are truly seeking... you WILL find Him!

I'm an atheist, but if any of Biggle's posts had been anti-God, I would've criticized them. Just because you make fun of God or religion doesn't mean you're against those things. I believe the story from the Onion website is fiction, but why things happen can be debated forever--the important thing is to help people in need, whatever your beliefs. And I'm not a judgmental person, either. If God does exist, I can't do anything about what He does, so what good would it do to judge Him? Peace, FT. 🙂
