blocking certain forums?

Is there any way to block certain forums when looking at new posts?

Not really, the forum is just not set up that way I fear.

Closest thing you could do is to do an advanced search selecting which forums you would like to include and then set if from your last visit - newer

I think that should have the results you want... potentially... 😛

Is there any way to block certain forums when looking at new posts?

Of course there's a simple solution but you have to do it manually. If you e.g. want to exclude the Silly Stuff forum, just use this link:
http://www.ticklingforum.com/search.php?do=getnew&contenttype=vBForum_Post&exclude=138

There you see how it works: Append the What's New? link with &exclude= and a comma separated list of the IDs of the forums you want to exclude. The ID is the number right behind the questionmark in the URL of the regarding forum - 138 for the Silly Stuff forum.

Setting a bookmark with this link makes it easier to remember it.
