blondes and arithmetic

There was once a convention for blondes intended to make them feel more confident.

At the first get together as a group, the host asked for a volunteer from the audience. when the blonde came up he announced to the audience that he was going to ask a few simple, math questions. He turned to the volunteer and asked her how much is 24×6. The volunteer answered “50?” The audience shouted “give her another chance”.

So the host asked “ how much is 10 and eight?” The blonde replied “Uh, 14?” And again the audience shouted “give her another chance.”

The host, completely flustered at this point, asked the blonde “Well, how much is two and two?” The blonde answered “Four.”

The audience shouted, “Give her another chance!”

I don't know that I could have figured out what 24 X 6 amounted to off the top of my head either (except, now that I think about it, I do: round 24 up to 25 for 150, then subtract 6 for the answer) and I'm about as brunette as you can get. Well, heavily tinged with gray these days. Even so, a laugh-out-loud funny joke! I can confirm that because I just did!
