Howdy all, I have been a member for too long and not posted anything. Time for me to contribute. Thought you might get a laugh out of this. As for ballerina's being ticklish in a previous post . . .WOW is mine ever! My fiance's feet are ticklish beyond belief and I used to have the bruised ribs to prove it. But, after a bit of classical conditioning (college psych is so much fun) she now enjoys being tickled. Anywho, I love wood working and I built a pair of stocks, that might I add, looked HORRIBLE, but they got the job done or so I thought. I made the holes just a little too big. After some convincing, my fiance was willing to be locked in them. Now she used to dance point and well, after about 10 seconds of light tickling she pointed her toes and pulled them out! The stocks have since been added to a pile of firewood in the back yard after some disassembly, can't be scaring the neighboor's.

Hope you all learn from my mistake and measure the ankles that the feet you are torturing are attatched to before spending the money to build stocks that don't work!

Smaller holes (with padding, so they don't chafe the ankles) might have done the job. But here is what you really want, for effective stocks: Metal eyeholes or hooks securely screwed into the top of the stocks, so that the big toes can be tied back. 😀 (Or if you're really ambitious, enough eyeholes to tie all ten.)
