Nope, I've never been to the real thing, but I've seen the traveling acts in Buffalo for a number of shows. There is something incredible about the amount of work that goes into those shows, just the song writing, the acting work, the playscripting... truly awe inspiring. Broadway inspires awe in humanity like nothing short of nuclear weapons can do. In particular, RENT (which I've never seen yet, it's a mite expensive, but I've downloaded and memorized the sound track entire🙂) was dreamt up, composed, and scripted entirely by one man (Jonathon Larson) who died the night of the very first rehearsal - never even saw his own show! I like to think he would be pretty pumped up about the way his show has touched the lives of thousands - now that was a life well lived, right there, however short it was.
Anyway, I'm off. It's Friday night, and y'all college students know what that means. 😉
