bug in the system?

For the past sevearl days, when clicking to view or respond to a thread, I'll sometimes have it kick over to show me as not being signed in. I thought it was just our system until I mentioned it to Venray just now and found that he's been experiencing the same for a few weeks. It's sporadic. One thread will open fine and another kicks over. I've noticed it mostly in TD and he in GD. So, it's obviously not just one forum section being affected. It also doesn't seem to depend on the time of day. Just thought I'd pass the word along since it looks like it might be a glitch here.

Anyone else noticing this? If so and you noticed any specifics, it may help in identifying the issue. Maybe just a software bug that needs to be ironed out. But, the more info. we can give about what we're seeing, the easier it will be to fix....or so I hope. 😉

An additional bit of info.....

Just before I noticed this, I unblocked active X. I just reblocked it and things are fine again...at least so far. Is there maybe something new in the ad or elsewhere that could be doing this? Not sure what all uses active x or if it's just coincidence.

It could be an active X issue. since you can toggle it, seems you've solved it. So far only you and ray report an issue. I assume clicking the thread a second time gets you to it?

I've had that occasionally happen to me too. Not recently, but for a couple of weeks maybe two years ago. I don't think it's something the forum is doing.

I still get to the thread when going to open it. It's just that it somehow showed me as signed off when I get there. And, if I clicked on a reply button, it would kick up the screen to sign in before posting. Not really sure what the issue is. But, since Ray & I are on different computers and different servers, I don't think it's us. Either way, it's not a big deal, just a minor inconvenience to sign back in every few clicks. **shrug**

Sounds like a cookie issue. Perhaps the forum is not serving cookies as it should. Not sure how that could be fixed, but we'll check as best we can.

Cool. As I said, it's just a minor inconvenience. Just wanted to be sure you were aware of it in case there were other things involved and/or others having the same problem.
