:grind_tee Looking to make friends who live in and around the Valley possibly, Santa Monica area? I'm not sure where exactly that I'm looking to move but just wanted to know how many people are located in these areas and well if you have any rec as to where are good places to look for "roommate" situations, etc?????

I live in the valley, and I would suggest moving somewhere there (cheaper than Santa Monica and the rest of LA, from what I've noticed). As for roommates and stuff, I suggest CraigsList.com. You can find lots of stuff there.

but yeah, there's lots of good stuff down in this area. Really close to Hollywood, Los Angeles, an hour from Orange County. The only drawback is the excessive heat in the summer...it gets over 100 here sometimes; you get used to it, though. I hope it all works out for you!

Thank you very much dubman!

Out of this site and ticklingforum I was shocked that you were the only person to have replied to my question. It doesn't take much to give advice when someone reaches out for help as they say. You've proven just that. That I thank you for!

I live in the OC right now, I used to live in the valley. Encino to be specific. Honestly, I recommend Orange County over LA. LA has its nice sections, but over time some areas have really gone to hell. Its expensive (where in Cali isn't?) and the traffic is murder. For about the same amount of money, if you search carefully you can find places in south OC. A much nicer local.

Keep in mind though, LA is not what you see in movies and TV, and if you already have a place to work or go to school lined up, you want to live as close as possible to there. LA (Southern Cal in general) is hugely spread out and the traffic is some of the worst in the US.

Good luck!

the OC is nice, too. Actually, if you can, go there. The valley is cheaper, but it also sucks. Orange County has beautiful, balmy weather...and Disneyland. We have....well, hot, dry weather and...yeah, that's basically it. I love Southern California, don't get me wrong, but it's for sure not as glamorous as it is often imagined.
