Hi All! This question is for all the paint [MS paint, I think] users out there.

First off, let me pre-face this question by saying that I have started coloring the blank and white images I can find on the net [via paint].

Could you tell me what a good anime style skin color is? I have tried the “color editor” tool, but can't find a good match up for white [and white with a tan] anime skin.

If anyone knows the numbers [in the H: S: L: R: G: B:] for a good anime style skin color, plese let me know.

Thanks Jin24!

Actrally, after I posted the message [like a few seconds after] it dawned on me, just download a pic with the color I want and use the "color picker" tool and take down the new HSL-RGB numbers then use them on the pic I'm coloring.

I tried it, it works pretty well.

For the love of all that it holy gracious and ticklish, please download GIMP, it's not as great as photoshop, but it's muuuuuch better than paint, you'll love layers, think of them like transparencies so you don't have to paint over your line art. Not only that but you can set the "blend mode" of the layer with the line art to "Overlay" this will allow the black lines to show over the coloring layers you would make underneath. To answer your question though, H:22 S:240 L:184 R:255 G:200 B:135 is a nice base skin tone to start with, then a darker shade for shadows, lighter for highlights

I have Gimp [and use it some], it's just paints interface is a whole lot more user friendly that Gimp's is, thanks for your input tho.

and thanks for the formala, I'll try it out.

Thanks for the advice, but since posting this thread I have decieded to try "free hand" coloring [I already have a ton of colored pencals from when I was little].

and, as for not dealing with adobe, I already use adobe to open PDF's and junk, so it was sorta easyer on me [speaking from a PC memery stand point] to use an adobe based [while basic] paint tool.

I'll post some of my work [with the origanal], after I get some done [first, I have to get some ink for my printer tho].
