All of you have plans Friday that involve showing up at my first munch... 😛

Ok not really, but there is a munch, hosted by yours truly!

Who: Everyone 18-30 in the San Diego area!
When:Friday around noon till everyone leaves.
Where: Westfield Parkway Plaza in El Cajon, at the Starbucks!
Why: Because we need a group of our own!
Anything else: PC me for directions, any questions, or visit the thread that I link to in my signature!

I think it's awesome that you're starting a munch scene!! Good for you 🙂 I would really encourage you to extend if not eliminate entirely the age thing. I understand the idea of wanting to meet people in your age group, but I'm 23, and if I attended a munch or gathering with nobody over 25, a dozen of my FAVORITE TMFers would be excluded. I mentioned this in a few of the age threads to "Who's in their 20s? 30s? 40 and above?" Don't restrict your friendships here to certain age groups, you'll be seriously missing out!! 😀

What's your reasoning for wanting to implement an age limit? Figure that out, and it'll help you figure out if and where to set the limit.

I notice in your sig you invite people 18-25 to PM you. If you're only comfortable meeting/playing with people in age bracket, there's nothing wrong with that, whatsoever. To each their own little mama 🙂 But the important thing to remember about a munch, is that it's not only to help you meet people, and people to meet you, but also to help people meet eachother.

So even if you're not interested in developing friendships or play partnerships or whatever with people of a certain age, holding a munch is a good chance to give the folks outside your preference a chance to meet eachother. Am I making sense? 😛

Imagine if everyone who held a munch or gathering, restricted it to the population the host wanted to meet. Let's say Baldy, who hosts a freakin epic NYC munch, only wanted to meet girls ages 18-35. There would have been FIVE people at his last munch, himself included. Instead, he opened it up to anyone and everyone, and there were about 40 people there, the few of whom I got to meet were amazing folks I wouldn't have had the opportunity to get to know had he restricted his invite list to a certain population or age group.

So, in a nutshell, figure out why you want the age limit, and consider if it's really necessary 🙂

My reasoning is this: If you were young wouldn't it be more comfortable meeting people around your age than people much older than you?

Don't get me wrong, I have friends here whom I have contacted through various mediums that are much older than me, and I love them to death. But I think it's easier to get up the courage to go to a munch or gathering if you're aware that the people who will also be attending will be similar in age to you. I can see your point, though, because as of now it's only me and EcEu going. *laughs* But, hey, it's a start!

I think I'll bump it up to 30. Please, guys and girls, 18-30, we'd love to meet you!
 
Yeah, with what dvnc said, I want to emphasize that this is YOUR choice, babe 🙂 It's your munch. You're the one going to the trouble to organize it. I'm not trying to tell you what to do, and I'd never want you to do anything you're not comfortable with!! You're probably around my age (based on the age bracket you originally mentioned), and it might be overwhelming or intimidating for you to meet people older than a certain age, and that's FINE! 😀 Above all - HAVE FUN 🙂 My suggestion of reconsidering the age thing just my attempt at helping out 🙂

'Sides, when you want to meet a more diverse group, you can always come to my events in LA. Easy-peasy. Bring your folks out and enjoy your munch!
