I felt like the solution was just outside my reach, but I couldn't grasp it. When I looked at the correct answer I realized I was way off, applying too many abstract interpretations to the clues.

I enjoyed this. If you have more riddles, this would make a good thread.

Good riddle, Tracy! If those stats are true, perhaps sole seeker is right. Or maybe Tron thinks like a...nah, won't go there so close to New Year's. Thanks! This one stumped me. 😀

the funny thing about this riddle was that i was saying the word "nothing", such as "nothing preceded God", but i didnt bother to think about the word "nothing" being the answer. ha ha.

i think the reason why adults were stumped was because we are thinking too deeply about it, instead of just looking at it simply. the biggest clue was kindergartners got it, so that means we cant use adult rationale to figure it out. it was a cool riddle!!!

I got it, in a few seconds. But only because I had seen the following joke:

How do we know that a ham sandwich is better than complete happiness in life?

Because NOTHING is better than complete happiness in life, and a ham sandwich is better than NOTHING. 🙂
