Cannot get in to the Chatroom

I keep on getting Ghosted I guess. I try to sign in and it won't let me.
Not ever for the first time trying to enter. The chat room screen just flashes up and then goes away and won't let me re-enter. I know it won't let me go in twice but it won't even let me in the first time(once)!

Is this on my end or is it a problem with others ere in the TMF?

This has happened to other members. One saw the problem solved by trying an alternative internet browser. I suggest downloading Mozilla Firefox, http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ or Opera, http://www.opera.com/ and installing it. Try going to the TMF, logging in, and accessing the chatroom using one of those. Internet Explorer 7 (And/or Windows Vista) have been having problems. I suspect it to be due to security restrictions in place in one of those two or Internet Explorer 7's pop-up blocker. But I can't be sure of how to fix either.

I gave up on the chatroom long ago.It was one problem after another,no matter what i did.

I use firefox. Same problem. Chat screen flashes up then disappears. Then I am told I cannot enter because I am already there!
Probably better off anyway. Chat can be a bad habit and somewhat frustratingly useless.

Other than you possibly having an outdated version of Java (See www.java.com to check that), I have no ideas further. Opera fixed this for one person before, but they were using IE7 or 6. ;_;

Nope. Got the latest version of Java too.

I had this problem also.......I had IE and Firefox. I couldnt get the chatroom to work until compeltely uninstalled Java and installed Opera, then reinstalled Java. Now it works fine.

Really strange since my firefox had worked everyday up to now.

Look at this one, this fixed worked for me.

It seems the newest version of Java (6.0 or 6.1) is not quite compatable with the chat room.
I had to uninstall Java, remove it, then using the link Giggle supplied I downloaded version 5 of Java. Installed that, and everything works fine now.
Just whenever Java tries to update, cancel it. Or keep the version 5 available on your computer so if it does it somehow, you can remove version 6 and go back to version 5.

I concur. Java 6 update 1 completely breaks access to the chatroom. I uninstalled it and it works fine again.
