can't get into chatroom

so i just updated my java, it said it encountered an error and to refresh to get into the chat room, but it doesn't work. anyone else having this issue?

When you update Java sometimes you have to turn down your security slider to medium or lower 🙂 Happens to everybody (tis why sometimes I avoid doing the update 😛 )

EDIT: Just entered the chatroom - I got the update prompt as well, decided to "skip this update," and the chatroom still works just fine. Try fiddling with that workaround in the thread I linked - in addition to lowering the security slider, there's a URL you can enter into the bypass section, that should help as well.

I updated my java, yet the setting I picked hasn't rest at all. It stayed the same and decided to go in the chat room to try. It worked for me...so it's strange that it didn't work for you.

I had exactly the same issue. Lowering my security levels didn't make a difference. Luckily Budweiser Bob came to my rescue. This is what I did and not had any issues....
Go to Control Panel\Programs open Java this will open up a window called Java control panel. Click on the security tab. Under Exception site list click Edit Site List. This will open a new window. Add in the following addresses in the column next to the unlocked padlock:
http://www.tickletheater.com/addonchat.php
http://client11.addonchat.com/current/scclient_en.zip
Click ok and then it should work.
I messed around with my security levels and put them back to default and it worked fine once I added the above to the exception list.
The odd time it has prompted me to allow access but once I click ok it works.

I'm looking through my configure of JAVA and this is how mine looks. Oh and I'm using Window7

The only question i can ask and I'm not sure if it's the best question, but did you click on "Restore Security Prompt" and change it to what's you need it to be to let you go to the chat room again?

I couldn't recommend using an outdated version of Java because of the risks. Perhaps try uninstalling Java completely, reboot, install the latest version, reboot again, then change the settings as shown in Posts 11 and/or 15.

Still no good, huh? Talk about serious...I guess the only thing I can think of now is troubleshooting. I can't think of anything else.

you can't troubleshoot whats not broken FT. My java is now up to date and works fine. I can get into TMF with it which uses Java, only here I cannot. So i think there chatroom doesn't take the latest java, with or without retrictions
