can't log out

for some reason, i cant log off. i press log out and select return to previous page, but it still says "Welcome, Vexis". the other day i had a friend over (member of TMF, wont say who for security reasons) and he wanted to log onto his account, but he couldn't and we were very frustrated.

does anyone know why this is happening?

Could be a few things.

The first is that you may have asked your browser to 'remember you' when you visit the site so it autologs you in.

The second is that you could have a bad cookie that has been corrupted. If you manually remove it, then log in you'll get a fresh good one. That might fix things.

Third, you might be suffering a reverse version of the issue many AOL users have in not being able to log in. That is due to the AOL browser blocking the cookie, and thus the system never seeing the login. You could be logging out, but the cookie is blocked and the logout is not seen. Using a different browser can solvbe this issue.
