Chat Room Help

Ok, just tried to get into the chat room for the first time on this new computer, which is using windows xp. I click on the join chat room, I am signed in. All I get is the info on the top about the chat rules, but the chat room box never loads. Anybody know why?

This sounds like a java problem. You may need to download a new Jave plug in from the Java homepage or MS homepage and install it.

I'm having the same problem since nuking and reloading my system. It's totally up-to-date. Nut, I still can't access the room...just the rules and an X where the chat field should be. Any ideas?

Nevermind....I just tried DLing a different version of Java. It works fine now. Here's the link if anyone needs it...Java DL

The rule is: see the broken picture frame, or the red x in the chat room field, and you need to get new java. Hmmmm, I'll add that to the help posts in the chat forum...

It was a java problem. I downloaded it from the Sun website as well, and I was able to get into the chat room. Of course, now everytime I go to a webpage that uses java, I get that annoying coffee cup on my task bar. I really hate XP!!!!

I can't get into the chatroom. The chatroom comes up. When it loads, it says "Identifying the server", but then it says "network connection lost". I'm then taken to the TMF main entrance. 😕

Is the chatroom down?
