Hey, so around late night (around 11:00ish pm EST), the chat room started to disconnect everyone that was inside every 30 seconds. I'm not sure if this will continue throughout the day, and I'm not sure if its the site's problem (to fix, as oppose to Java being responsible), but its something that I thought I should report on.

Everytime I log in, it would say "connection to server lost" after a given amount of time.

majikku can vouch on this as well. And I think missy1234 and _LadyK as well.

Oops, it's just happened to me, too! 😱 Sit tight, I'll see if there's any news on this at AddonChat's site. I suspect it's not a local issue, but rather one with AddonChat. In the meantime, keep trying, or keep an eye on this thread - I'll post when it starts working again.

I just sent in a support ticket to see if the issue is wide-ranging. If it appears it's a local issue, I'll try messaging HDS about it. Sorry for the inconvenience guys.

W00t to the Dalek! Exterminating our problems!
Haha thank you so much.

I have some problems with chat.
There is: "Success. Signing in" for some time, then connection lost. Every time I come in.
I'm using firefox.

EDIT: Well now it's only a black screen instead of loading.

Have you tried with another browser? It appears to be working just fine for me and a few others. Let me know if the problem is still occuring for you.

I installed new version, checked if it's ok and it didn't change anything. Everywhere else java works fine,

If you are using Internet Explorer, try placing "www.tickletheater.com" into the Trusted Sites zone. Security software (such as Zone Alarm) could also be blocking the chat applet. If you still can't connect to chat, I can offer a workaround using a portable version of Java and a portable browser to visit the chatroom.

As I wrote before I use firefox I tried IE to check if problem accrues only on one browser, but it does not, it's the same on both.
What do you mean by portable browser?

A portable browser is a self-contained browser that can be run from a USB stick or from a folder (other than Program Files) on your hard drive. (I'm using a portable browser right now.)

Firefox Portable download: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable
Java Portable: http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/java_portable

To run it from a hard drive, create a folder somewhere called "PortableApps." Install Firefox Portable to a folder inside it called FirefoxPortable, then create a folder in PortableApps called "CommonFiles." Install JPortable to a folder inside CommonFiles called Java.

Inside the FirefoxPortable folder, double-click FirefoxPortable.exe to run it (you can make a desktop shortcut for it). Firefox Portable should automatically recognize and use the portable Java, which should allow you to visit the chatroom.

Best of luck!

I've heard bad things about Java 7 and above -- I'm still using 6.23 or something and it works better.
