The subscription expired, and due to inactivity I couldn't justify spending another $100 to renew it. However, if someone wants to donate this fee I would glady put the chatroom back in action.

A suggestion could be...
To ad a link with a JAVA-chat connected onto one of the many IRC networks you can find worldwide. There is some FREE klients you can use to set this up. Some of the IRC networks lets you have quite good controlle over your channel, so it can't be taken over by others. If you choose to use the IRC net you will have the advantage of other chat-people can learn about tickletheater that way too ... and some of us who allready use IRC will enjoy meeting our ticklish friends in that way too.........

Thanks, but it's not something I would prefer to pursue for a variety of reasons. Our old chatroom had an integration addon that automatically incorporated our user database. So everyone was already setup for the chatroom, and they matched who they are on the board.
This makes for easier administration since if you banned a user from the forum it kept them out of the chatroom as well. It also kept logs in case a user filed a complaint against someone for causing problems we could look back through and verify the claim.
Finally, a chatroom for this type of site should be kept in-house, meaning only known to its members. We have plenty of people here already, and I do not believe that advertising the room outside the site would bring any good. If anything, it would only bring problems since not everyone understands the site. This is why the old chatroom was only accessible through this site alone.
Maybe as time moves on, and more lurkers become less shy we will bring the chatroom back like the TMF has been able to accomplish through its user activity success. Until then, I see no reason myself to continue it at this time.
