Chatroom: DENIED

Any idea why one cannot enter the chatroom tonight? The box for getting in does not appear (might it be called the "applet"?).

I've heard others complain recently that it took them a very long time to get in, and I, in my haughty, one-of-the-in-crowd attitude, never gave it much thought. But now I find myself on the telling end of that sad tale!

Myr? Mar? Cos? Noeyes? Anybody?

Ok, heres the hoop I had to jump through to get in...

I logged onto the TMF, clicked the chat room button on the navigation box, and of course no login windows appeared on the chatroom entry page. So I "back"ed out back into the TMF, and "forwarded" into the chat again, and this time the login window appeared. That may only work for me, but Ive been able to reproduce it.

I'm one of the folks that can't get in. It has somethign to do with how the web is working. The problem is on the chat peoples server end. I've had it happen before. It clears up in a few hours or a day or two. My longest lock out was a week. So it's only a temp problem at worst.

A test ping shows the server that hosts the chatroom to be down/missing from the net.

Clearly since some of you have gotten into the room, this is not a universal condition, so it's probably a localized problem due to web traffic or a down hub.

In other words some of us are screwed, depending on where we are. From the members reporting problems, it looks to be members in the east are locked out.

Give the web, or the server folk some time to recover an all should be well.

Yeah, I haven't been able to get in for almost 24 hours. Funny thing is, MSN chat, the chat medium where I go for "conventional" conversations -- where I'd be embarrassed to death if anybody knew I came in *here* -- I haven't been able to get in there for almost a week. And in the IRC channel where I host a for-profit quiz program, we had all kinds of unprecedented problems yesterday, where all 15 of us would disappear at once. What's worse, my two vcr's are hooked up now, taping a program, and I can't even watch CNN.

No offense, DDD and Charlie ... but that's a relief. It's a relief 'cause I can't get in either, and I spent way too much time last night wondering if my machine's Java capabilities had gone kerflooey again. But at least now I know it's not me.

If anyone wants to chat, you can use the one at my site at http://pub39.ezboard.com/balgonancrazyhouse Its just like the TMF chat, only with fewer or no people and more pop-up ads. No one ever visits there because it is just a message board.

I am in the same boat. I was so anxious to get in and chat, but in all my attempts over the last few days since I have joined, I have never been given a login area at all. I have tried all the suggestions, and nothing works. I've never experienced that sort of problem before, and it breaks my heart 🙁 I so wanted to chat with you lovely people!
