Chatroom Drops all Internet Connections

Tonight, when I attempt to connect to the chatroom

[1] I get a failure message

[2] All WWW sessions (on different apps) go into limbo

[3] Yahoo messenger is disconnected within 10 seconds (normally about 2 or 3)

As best I can tell, any other connection to the internet is also lost. E-mail, POP3, web, IM, Telnet, FTP,

You name it, I lose it.

This happens from either Mozilla FireFox (0.9.2) or Netscape (7.02)

I tried 4 times from two different browsers.

Sounds like a java issue. The system is calling for more memory to run the java, it eats the other aps, and then the system fails.

Try a java update. sun.com etc etc.

I was wondering why you werent on last night, P. At first I thought maybe the weather got your power.
I hope what Myriads suggested works for you. When I had Java problems some time ago, he suggested sun.com for me, and it fixed my problem. I dont know if yours is the same thing. Good luck to you, my friend, and I hope to see you later tonight.

Looks like it worked.

If I had any guts; if I had any integrity; I would write the P50 O/S and give it away for free.

Now I enter, and I'm allowed in for a brief moment; maybe 3 seconds, maybe 30 seconds

Then I get a window popping up on my screen

P if you are still having problems, try closing your computer and restarting, or at least log off the internet and relog on. When this happens to me, this is what I do, and it enables me to restart, and reenter the chat. I dont know if this will work, but it s worth a try. Usually, when you get the server is unexpectedly broken message,it means you have been tossed from the chat by turning off your comp and logging off the net. This is how my comp works, dont know if youll have the same experience. Good Luck.
