Chris Evans cast to play Captain America

Chris evans. The guy who played human torch in those christ awful fantastic 4 movies, is going to play captain america next year. What. The. Fuck. I may have to go slit my wrists at that news. Only redeeming part of this is Hugo Weaving is a top runner for the role of the red skull. Thoughts anyone? Or am I the only one who cares?

Vin dieself has the muscle, but that's about it. Honestly? I think the guy who played duke, channing tatum if I remember correctly, would be better suited for cap. And izzy how can you not know who captain america is?! An skull, uh....they ARE making a wonder woman movie sometime next year lol.

Well that's part of the problem, the director (whose name escapes me at the moment) wanted someone who'd already done something kinda like this, and that's kinda how Chris Evans got the role. That and he's a natural born American. They felt that would be appropriate given the movie being about Captain America and all 😛

Remember when Chris Evans went all Thingoid in Rise of the Silver Surfer? Even wearing a muscle suit, I was totally unimpressed with the guy. That's how profoundly wrong this choice for Captain America is. Just plain Marvel-Studios laziness all over again, just like the crap they pulled with Spider-man (organic web shooters; a high-quality Spidey suit out of nowhere for a dirt-poor college student).

I think I'll pass on this CA movie.
