christmas gifts

Ive alwasy wanted 2 start a thread and i finally came up with somthin 2 say. So i want know everyone has planned 4 that special gift, 4 that special person or persons. Tell me what u think bout this, im 19 and in college and i have a best friend(sense the 4th grade) thats in the marines, i also i like 2 draw(i think im pretty good). The both of our mothers r real close and real spiritual they treat the others child as thier son. But anyway what i wanted 2 do is draw a picture of my friend, in his marine uniform on the left facing right and me, in shirt with my colleges name on it on the right facing left, and we r both gonna have our heads bowed as if we r praying and there will b a cross between us. What we r wearin is posed 2 symbolize what we r doin with our lives. Then i would make copies for the 4 of us and frame them. So what does everyone think. Ok now i want 2 hear what everyone else has in mind as gifts.

Personalized gifts like that are always a good idea (incidentally spelling out words like "for" and "to" is also a good idea and hurts my brain a lot less). My husband is making framed genealogies for my mother and his.

I don't need to buy gifts, as just KNOWING me personally is a huge privilege as is! 😛

But in all honesty.......I was thinking about getting my mother and father something to soundproof the bedroom door. You think dysfunctional families are bad? My parents are still in love. :S

The best gift I ever gave to anyone was to my buddy Scott. He is a HUGE "Sex & The City" fan, and was going through a rough personal situation. Last Christmas, I managed to snag for him an 8 x 10 color cast photo, autographed by Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, and Kim Cattrall.

I'm not asking for anything pretty much or well i mean i would! but my parents have no idea what to get me (and so of course they have asked me a few times) but i don't know either. I have a few ideas down but there nothing major just normal dvd's a few dvd box sets a few xbox games etc... But what i really like is either a Digital Camera or a nice Lap top 😀. But my parents are still having alittle bit of money problems so that is proble out of the question

Well Prodigy didn't officially die for years after I stopped using it. It still exsists somewhere under the Yahoo! empire. While I can't be shocked at HDS since nobody knows how old he is I must ask...do you remember Prodigy when it was a DOS application? hmmmmm?

I remember when connection speed was measured in "baud rate," and a modem was a huge metal contraption with rubber ear cups that sat on your desk and you had to seat the telephone receiver in the cups. I also remember when monitors were CRTs with green all-caps text on a black background, and DEC-10's were considered state of the art 🙂

That I do not. I never did care for running programs in DOS, although I love using it, especially when Windows is being an arse about deleting something. File being used by another program my a$$. *Grumble*
