How can I clear 7Zip's history of recently created archives.
It's not in the main window, but when you select files to pack, there's the address-bar where you input the package-name.

When you click on the dropdown-list, it'll reveal ALL of your previously created packages... A looong list. Not only 5... Any way to clear this? I've looked at regedit and hidden folders, but I still can't find a way... There must be a way...

Any IT-wise people here? 🙁

While I'm not sure how to do that, I take it that this question stems from a desire to keep people from seeing what you've zipped. If you have that much of a security issue with your computer, perhaps you should just put a password on your user account. It seems like it'd be way easier and way more secure.

Putting a password on your user account is like broadcasting to everyone in your house that uses the computer "I'm hiding porn!". You're better off using the hidden folder trick. If you really want to hide stuff, don't leave it on your desktop. Put it in a program files folder that nobody would poke around in.

The application CCleaner, among its many uses, clears 7-Zip of stored information. Or, at least, it purports to.

Install CCleaner and be certain you've clicked the "Cleaner" button at the left. You should have two tabs. One says "Windows" and the other "Applications". Uncheck everything in both (If you don't want other stuff to be deleted) and only check "7-Zip" under "Utilities" in the "Applications" tab. Click "Analyze" and it should report a few (small) things to clean, all related to 7-Zip (Because you unchecked everything else, it only looked for 7-Zip). Click "Run Cleaner" to delete these.

I'd rather delete the history manually. I've used CCleaner before and do not wish to do so again... And the password isn't enough, because some day someone will ask to use 7Zip and I can't just "errmmm you can't do that" and I don't want to lie and get caught of lying.

So the worst condition would be "heyy why is "tickling.7z" in the recent packages? WHAT ARE YOU HIDING? 😱

And not allowing friends to use the computer is a bit of frustrating or just say "Please use another account" or to switch EACH time they want to use the comp.
