Hi all,

I think that this Hacha/RAR/zip issue has gone on about long enough, so I propose that we come up with a program that everyone will like, thats simple to use, and that is written in english. I am a software engineer so to write a program that fits this bill would be a simple task. I just want to know who would use it.

I'm thinking this... it takes a large file as input and cuts it down to pieces that could be uploaded here. Then, the user can download the pieces, double click on the first one, and it would automatically reassemble itself and open. Simple as can be. No programs to install, no programs to run, just double click like you're gonna open it anyway. We can call it TTSplit... just for our little community.

I'll even offer email tech support.

Of course, I won't do anything if the Theater asks me not to.

Sound good? Any takers?

It sounds like a generous offer. Although I have used WinRAR to split files to be uploaded to this forum and most people have been able to follow my simple instructions as to how to put the file back together. I've also noticed that Hacha is another popular choice. I personally don't find Hacha difficult to use. I prefer WinRAR though. The other thing is that you can't upload any file type to this forum. You can't upload .exe files for example. Usually what people did before I came along was they would use mainly Hacha to split files and then they would have to put each piece into a zip file. Which meant that you had to extract the pieces then use Hacha to put them together. I found an easier way to split files with WinRAR. WinRAR gives the advantage of making self-extracting files that can be split. All I had to do was change part 1 from .exe to .rar. Then usually the downloader would have to change part 1 back to .exe (if they didn't have WinRAR). However, if you can find a way to make it even easier to do all of this with a new program, all the power to you 🙂

Don't get me wrong, I find it extremely easy to download and reassemble just about everything on here. I just notice that a few people have lots of trouble and the only solutions for them are either a) post in lower quality or b) they can't view the file. Either way is unfair to one group of people or another. I'm just trying to accomodate everyone and reduce the amount of bitching/bickering. 🙂

hacha and rar are working on both platforms....
I don't like Hacha it has never worked properly on my pc. WinRar is much better. I think they are both devious measures to get large files posted and break the rules.

Hacha works fine, if it's used properly. Mostly members have downloaded and reasembled properly clips using hacha/zip, only a little bit of them not. In Windows PC any user can to reasemble a clip using hacha/zip method, of course if this take directions carefully and wish to get them. Btw, i like that idea about of a split program that creates auto-extracting files, without requires installation, would be great to have that program. But you would must to ask at TickleTheater admin, before to decide on this fact. Good luck !!, i'll be pending on your progress in this issue :happy::happy::happy::happy:.

There are some members on this board that don't have a problem with Hacha or winrar but it don't work for me and it don't really bother me but everybody should be able to view all the clips here. Yeah I hope you can come up with another program that is easy to use for everyone that would be great.

Hello The Reaper,

I wrote to you a private message answering how to use hacha program, time ago, but you haven't readed it yet. If you review your pm inbox, you can to check it. If you prefer it, you can to read a detailed directions step-by-step about of how to use hacha program just on this thread : click here! on the Post #8 done by me. Better luck !! 😉:happy::happy::happy::happy:.

clip splitting

Speaking for all the computer illiterates out there who find all these "simple" instructions a bit like ancient Greek, I would LOVE any program that could simplify the process. And I appreciate your generous offer to provide it. Thank you.

ok, here's my opinion:
i downloaded and used winrar for the first time today, and it works exactly like that program u suggest. I didn't have to rename anything, just downloaded the files, double clicked the first one, and it showed me a media file. I double clicked that,it didn't ask me anything, just showed some graph of extraction and opened it on the media player. that's it. quick and easy. so I say: let's stick to winrar. no need to bother making a new program cause it can't get any easier.

Yes except cosquillero will not use it because he thinks his Hacha program is the greatest.

You're in a wrong boy, because i can't use winrar, due to it need install. Hacha or hjsplit not require install. I would use any splitter program that not require install.

Hopefully stupidity do not hurt 🙂
Ahem...forget that quote but seeing that i could not let it as is.
Threat members as you wanted to be threated remember !

tickle_girl1700 has a goal in mind that I can deal with. Universal SIGNLE device that satisfies all. I'm sure it's annoying to have to use 2 or 3 different programs to handle clips. I know hacha never worked for me despite all instructions, and then when people said "let's use this" and I hadn't even figured out the other one....I was like "well forget it then. I don't mind having 3 seperate parts to a clip that isn't put back together". So I support a universal program.
