Anyone a comics fan? Not comics as in comic books, but comis, like in the Sunday paper. Like Garfield, the Family Circus, etc.
I've always loved reading comics and here are my favs:
a) Calvin and Hobbes -- Always made me laugh. I'm sad the guy stopped writing it. Best strip: The family's eating dinner:
Calvin: BUURP!
Mom: Good heavens, Calvin, what do we say?
Calvin: Must be a barge coming through!
Mom: Care to try again?
Calvin: That tatsed better going down then coming up!
Mom: Three strikes and you're history, kiddo.
Calvin: (defeated) Excuse me.
b) The Far Side -- Another great one that shouldn't have stopped. Ever see the Simpson's episode where Homer finds the Gary Larson calendar? "I don't get it...I don't get it....I don't get it....I (pause)...don't get it..." (Supoib!)
c) B.C. -- Always thought this guy had a good mind for humor. Also, for any Christians out there, he writes the best strips I've ever seen on Christianity.
d) Garfield -- It's been around for a while, but I think it gets funnier as it goes along. The writer's developing good use of wit and dialogue. (never thought I'd say that about a comic strip! 🙂 )
e) Shoe -- Weird one, but has great insights.
