Hiya friends! :Angel_anim:

I know we are all concerned. And my hats are off to all of you who are doing something practical like using your skill to help, or organising kits and care packages etc. And to all of us who are participating in fund raising.

But whether because we lack the local connections or the money ourselves or we're just not near somewhere where we can make a direct difference, we find ourselves unable to do any of those things.

I want to offer this as something we can all do.

In whatever way is true to who you are, I invite you to commit with me to pray for Haiti and the Haitian community and all who are going to assist for 2 minutes each day for the next four weeks. then we can reassess what to do next.

Of course we're free to do more but this is a manageable amount for us all.

So will you join me in posting on this thread as a personal reminder to your commitment?

Thanks everyone.
Let's do something we all can do.

Many blessings,

What about those of us living overseas (Europe) and atheists? Well, I'll still be wishing them the very best - may as much damage as possible be avoided/repaired, and as soon as possible.

Hiya Duke! :Angel_anim:
Thanks for replying! And for your commitment to 'wish the people the very best etc.' 🙂
I had hoped that the way I phrased the idea might enable people of whatever belief system (Atheists included) to find it possible to participate.
And as for overseas,, I suppose that includes everyone except the Dominicans who share Hispaniola with Haiti.

Let's see who else might want to participate!

Many blessings,

My prayers go out to all those affected by this catastrophy, and to all those who are giving of themselves during this sad time.

I just wish I could go over there and actually help but I have no amount of training except an expired Lifeguard license

I donate my coin change/spare $1's to homeless people when in the city. I'm afraid I can't do much more than that. Bummer as I really would like to help out. :cry

I forget which service provider it was, but they had a really good idea. Txt a number to them, and they'll add a $10 fee to your next bill, but that $10 went straight to relief efforts in Haiti.

That's about as much as I can do too 🙁

If you text the word "haiti" to 90999, U.S. cell phone providers will send $10 to the American Red Cross, which will appear on your next phone bill.
