When Ross got to the office on that Tuesday, he made a 1pm meeting with Tim at Shun Lee.
"Ross, I'm going to propose something. I dont know what you would think of it. However, this is it. I realize that I'm really acquiring far too many companies, and that it is becoming a weight for you to both analyze them, and for me to have them. Thus, I want to start selling off the volume of companies, the smallest and medium sized ones, and use the money to acquire larger companies. Less volume of companies, but greater worth and value" Tim said.
Ross sighed. "Business wise, I think that is actually a great idea. However, the analysis and sale of such will take a great deal of time" Ross said honestly.
"However long it takes, it takes. This is long overdue. If there is a medium size to large company that I really want to acquire, I can either just dump a bunch of small ones for whatever I can get for them if time is a problem, or, maybe finance ones. Let me just give you the details of exactly what I was thinking, and the companies involved that I would like to sell, and then we will discuss it" Tim said.
"Okay" Ross said.
When Ross got home that night, he said to Kayley. "Tim finally got a good idea. He realized that he has too many companies volume wise, and wants to sell some of them off, to get cash, to buy larger and more valuable companies. Its a great idea, but it will take some time for him to figure out how, and for me to go through what we can sell them for, and to put together deals" Ross said.
"Okay, as you are doing with the gas strike with Fritz and Steve, good things take time" Kayley said.
The next morning, Ross and Kayley got on an 8 am flight to OKC, which landed in OKC at noon. They met Fritz and Steve at the office.
"Hello, partner, and partner s lovely wife. We were thinking, you both relax and chill today. We have dinner together tonight, and then we do Zoom shows and conference calls tomorrow, and Friday begin taking investors to the sites" Fritz said.
"How many investors would be involved?" Ross asked.
"We will show this to probably three to four hundred investors, with a goal of signing up one hundred, in other words, a return in investment of twenty five percent, not as massive as last time, but a nice little deal" Fritz said.
"Just fine, my friend and partner" Ross said.
After meeting with Fritz and Steve, Ross and Kayley went to their hotel, checked in, and rested until Steve and Fritz came to pick them up at 7 pm for dinner. The dinner was social , friendly, and business.
The next morning, everyone planned to meet at the office at 9 am, to begin talking to investors via phone and Zoom, with shows that Friday.
On Thursday morning, Ross, Fritz, Steve, and Kayley gathered at the office. Kayley went into another office with her laptop computer to keep herself busy, while the :guys" discussed the business with the investors. Two hundred viewed via Zoom that morning, and two hundred in the afternoon. By the end of that day, half knew they were not interested, so the next day, two hundred men would be driven in trucks to the fields, where Fritz, Steve, Ross and the field men would show them the gas sites and explain everything.
The field show happened on Friday, Since they were able to drive the investors to the fields in a large . rented truck, it would only take one show to take care of everything. Everyone spent the day at the field, viewing the fields, and then went back to the office, and out for drinks to discuss everything. Once again, about half who were shown the fields were not interested. The final tally turned out to be seventy five "Yes" and twenty five "Maybe" and it would be known within a week. It was by far not the best show that Fritz , Steve and Ross had ever done, but they would take it. At least some people would sign up, so it was a moderately successful venture.
When the investors left, Fritz said.
"Well at least quite a few people are going to sign up. We cant really be disappointed because a decent return is better than nothing at all. With the last show, the signing and recruiting rate was so unusually high, that it was an unexpected bonus. This might be a more realistic return. Now, why dont the folks from the Big Apple get out of here, and go on their vacation. We will keep in close touch" Fritz said.
"Thanks, Fritz. We will as always keep in close touch. Kayley and me will try to get to Vegas tonight. If not, we will leave early tomorrow morning. I';m guessing we will be there four to five days. Just a word. When Kayley and me do get back to New York, I really have to be in the office for a week , so the earliest I could come back here is the following Monday, but we will discuss that as time goes along, okay" Ross said.
Fritz saluted Ross. "Yes, Sir, and partner. Now. will you two please go off, and have fun. We had a decent recruiting time, and visit. Now its time for you guys to have a lot of joy:" Fritz said.
Ross and Kayley called Ceasers, made a reservation for the following day, and then made a 9 am OKC time flight to Vegas, via Dallas.
The couple slept in OKC that night, awoke, and packed in the morning, went to the airport, took off, changed in Dallas, and then landed in Vegas, and their car took them to their hotel.
The trip to OKC had turned out fairly well.
What would happen on the Vegas part of the trip?
