Computer Question...

I'm still getting periodic virus messages, while mostly using Google Chrome as my web browser.

I have a question for anyone who might know...

I clicked on Internet Explorer for the first time in a long time tonight..

I got a message that said..

"An unknown program would like to change your search engine from Goggle to Yahoo".

I clicked it, and stayed on IE for a short time.

Funny thing.. no virus messages during that time.

So my question is..

Is it the Google Chrome, and Google Search engine with the virus, did the computer detect that, and such is why it changed the IE search engine to Yahoo. '

Or.. was changing the search engine to Yahoo on IE someone downloading another virus onto my computer?

Sorry if this is too.. technical.

I want to try to continue to use Chrome.. although as I said, periodic virus and malicious software messages still pop up on Chrome as well.

Try taking your PC to a computer maintenance place.

Anti-malware programs like Avast and such don't always protect your PC from malware.

I would say, go ahead and do what "Damsel" said.

but, To me, in sounds like a Google Chrome problem.

I myself, use the default Internet Explorer, and do scans [AVG and Malwarebytes] twice or more times a month

Thanks.

I have malware on my computer. I already know that, and posted it in another thread.

I have malware and virus programs to protect me for now.

Otis, theres only one problem about what you advised me to do.

When I clicked the "Uninstall a Program", and looked through the options... there was no program called Astromenda on there. I went through everything on the programs very carefully, and there was no such program with that name.

Thanks for the advice, but, it didn't work for me.

Please suggest another angle, Otis, because I'n not familiar with what should be normal or abnormal on the uninstall programs list, and thanks again for your help.

Thanks for the detailed explanation, Otis. I'll try what you suggested.
